A red alert has been issued once again in Mumbai regarding heavy rains. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rains in Mumbai and surrounding areas today (28 September). In the suburbs and major parts of the city, heavy rains have also started since morning. At the same time, the morning view on the Bandra-C link road is seen as dark and blurred as evening.

Black clouds are there and due to reduced visibility, vehicles have to burn headlight and parking lights. Due to Sunday, schools and offices are closed, so there is no possibility of a big problem for the common people, but the municipal corporation and police administration are completely cautious.

Warning of sea wave and strong winds

According to the Meteorological Department, today at 2.45 minutes, there will be a wave of about 11 feet high in the sea. At present, strong winds are blowing at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. This situation advises to maintain vigilance in the coastal areas of Mumbai and Thane. The Municipal Corporation Disaster Management Cell has warned of boats and fishermen to be safe in coastal areas.

Flood and loss in other districts of Maharashtra

In Akola district, heavy rains continue and there is a situation of water logging in many places. Yola taluka, Nashik received heavy rains from the night, causing water to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar shopping center and fields. There was rain like cloudburst in Underwadi and about 800 chickens died after falling a poultry farm wall in Balhegaon. This caused huge economic loss to farmers and traders.

Flood and life affected in Sambhajinagar district

It rained all night in Khultaabad taluka of Sambhajinagar district. People came out of their homes due to water entering many villages. Girja and Surja rivers are in spate in Takli Rajerai area. Citizens kept awake overnight due to six feet of water flowing in the canals along the river. Shops and agricultural businesses also suffered heavy losses, causing economic loss of lakhs of rupees. The administration has intensified relief and rescue operations in the affected areas.

Marathwada of Maharashtra, famous for sugarcane, cotton, soybean, onion, turmeric and seed production, is facing the weather. The continuous rains here ruined the farmers in a way. Relief is not expected from the rain at the moment. The Meteorological Department said on Friday (26 September) that Aurangabad (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar), Jalna, Parbhani, Hingoli, Nanded, Latur, Beed, Dharashiv (Usmanabad) have alert of heavy rains for the next two days.

In the midst of this disaster, it is every effort of the government to provide relief to the farmers as soon as possible. On Friday, an official said that the Maharashtra government allocated Rs 1500 crore to distribute assistance to the farmers who suffered crop losses due to heavy rains between May to August this year in the Marathwada region.

According to the news agency PTI, Divisional Commissioner Jitendra Papalkar said that the amount will go directly to the accounts of the affected farmers and the payment process has started. He said that the officials have been instructed to upload the list of affected farmers immediately.

How much survey was completed?

There are eight districts in the Marathwada region. Currently, assessment of crop loss is going on here. Papalkar said that so far the survey of about 80 percent of the crops has been completed. Since September 20, heavy rains in these districts have caused a large number of damage due to the rise of rivers, in which at least 9 people have lost their lives. So far, 86 people have died in rain -related incidents in 8 districts of Marathwada region during this year’s current monsoon season. Along with this, a large number of pets have also died.

How many crops loss?

A senior Maharashtra government official said on Thursday (26 September) that the crops on 83.77 lakh acres of area have been destroyed in the last one week due to torrential rains and after the floods.

Soybean, cotton, onion, jowar and turmeric crops have been most affected in Beed, Dharashiv, Solapur, Nanded, Yavatmal, Buldhana and Hingoli districts. Marathwada has been in discussion across the country due to drought in the last few years, but this time heavy rains have brought havoc.

Minister’s warning

Agriculture Minister Dattatreya Bharani said, “If a farmer’s assessment of a single guntha (measurement of land) of the land of a farmer is missed, then the authorities will be held accountable. Farmers are in deep crisis and the administration has to ensure that no one is deprived of help.

Fisheries Minister Nitesh Rane instructed the officials to assess the damage done to the fish farmers within 10 days and to collect accurate information by visiting the affected places personally.

The Chief Minister, Cabinet Minister and leaders of opposition parties are visiting the flood affected areas and taking stock of the loss. This tour of leaders is very important before the Agami civic elections.

Opposition parties have demanded the government to declare the state as a wet drought or ‘weight droot’ (despite heavy rains, not a benefit of crops but a loss -like loss). The opposition has demanded compensation of Rs 50,000 per hectare in flood affected areas.

What is the demand of the opposition?

Maharashtra Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule said that many MLAs, MPs, Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) and industry are working to help the affected people. BJP MLAs have also decided to pay a month’s salary to help the flood affected people.

Congress and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray has demanded the government to declare a wet drought in the state. The Congress has demanded compensation of Rs 50,000 per hectare to the affected farmers. At the same time, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray has demanded the central government to declare a assistance package of Rs 10,000 crore for Marathwada.

Chief Minister’s visit

Chief Minister Fadnavis visited Solapur and Latur on 25 September. He wrote, “While visiting the areas affected by heavy rainfall, some glimpses of the day to stand firmly with our farmers and repeat the government’s support.” The Chief Minister has instructed all the ministers to visit the affected areas.

What did Ajit Pawar say on loan waiver?

At the same time, NCP chief and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar went to Beed and Dharashiva, where saw waste. Ajit Pawar said that where the entire soil of the field has been washed away due to floods. The government will help for its reconstruction. Farmers’ wells have also been destroyed due to silt filled. We will also help in such cases.

He said that not only the crop, but also infrastructure has been damaged by the flood situation.

On the demand for loan waiver, Ajit Pawar said, “I say what is true. I do not want to do politics. But where we have to help the needy, we are not giving up anywhere. We are helping people through schemes like ‘Ladki Bahin’ scheme, electricity bill waiver and Sanjay Gandhi baseless scheme. The government is helping the common man.”

The villagers and farmers of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar interacted with Shiv Sena UBT chief Uddhav Thackeray. He said, “The soil of crops like gold has been wasted. To plow this land again, farmers will have to spend a lot. The government should bear the expenses, it is the right of the farmers.
How will the weather be in Mumbai in the coming week?

He also claimed, “The rain on May 18 was not due to the monsoon but because of cyclone.” The monsoon begins with the manufacture of specific weather patterns. Mumbai receives heavy rains due to pattern and cyclonic situation. The possibility of heavy rains is less until that pattern is made. So far, there is no forecast of rain in Mumbai in the coming week. “

Heavy rains in Mumbai damage in many places

Along with torrential rains in Mumbai, many incidents of falling trees, short circuits and house walls were reported in the city. According to BMC, 79 cases have been registered in Mumbai regarding the damage caused by rain. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said in a statement that 79 cases have been reported across the city, causing traffic jam and the problems of passengers running on the submerged roads increased throughout the day.

There were cases of fire due to short circuit in 25 places in Mumbai. At the same time, cases of falling trees falling at 45 different places in Mumbai have been registered. BMC said that due to heavy rains at 9 places, the part of the house fell. Apart from this, 3 people have also been reported injured.

Mumbai pre-monsoon update: Mumbai, Maharashtra received heavy rainfall on Tuesday (May 20) evening. In many parts, thunderstorms and lightning incidents were recorded along with heavy rains, affecting traffic on the streets of the city. Officials said that pre-monsoon rain has an impact, which was seen more in eastern and western suburbs than Mumbai.

Western suburb Jogeshwari recorded the highest rainfall of 63 mm, while Andheri (Malpa Dongri) received 57 mm and Andheri (East) received 40 mm of rain. In the eastern suburbs, Powai recorded 38 mm in Powai, 29 mm in Bhandup (S Ward Office) and 27 mm in Teeni Pada.

Trees fell somewhere, traffic affected due to water logging
According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), light to moderate rains were recorded in the metropolis between 8 pm and 11 pm, with the highest rainfall in the western suburbs. Within 3 hours, an average of 12.86 mm in South Mumbai, 15.65 mm in the eastern suburbs and 26.63 mm in the western suburbs recorded.

Officials said that during this time there was no other major accident other than a tree falling and a short circuit incident. Despite the rains, no major problem of water logging was revealed in the city and suburbs, although traffic had to be stopped due to water filling in the dark subway.

Possibility of heavy rains between 21 and 24 May- Meteorological Department
Passengers also agreed to slow down road traffic, although according to railway officials, local train services remained normal. Some passengers said that local train services were running slightly late.

The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of heavy rains and thunderstorms in Maharashtra between May 21 to 24. The reason for this is the cyclonic circulation system formed near the Karnataka coast in the east-central region of the Arabian Sea.

The Mumbai Regional Meteorological Department issued a press release on Tuesday (May 20) in the evening that it is likely to be a low pressure area in the region around 22 May, which may later move north and may intensify.

Meteorologist Shubhangi Bhuthe said that the impact of this cyclonic system can intensify rain activity in many parts including South Konkan, South-Central Maharashtra and Mumbai. In some places there is a possibility of heavy rain and thunder-glowing with strong winds at a speed of 30-40 km per hour or more.
