He realized that now the last moments of his life have come. On 22 February 1944, Kasturba said goodbye to this world by placing his head in Gandhiji’s lap. His last words were not to mourn my death. This should be an opportunity for a bliss. On 23 February, he was cremated at Aga Khan Palace. Gandhiji sat near the whole pyre, until the fire was extinguished. After Kasturba’s death, Gandhiji remembered him and said that even if there was anything, she was above me.
