That night of March 8, 2014 is still the biggest wound in the world of aviation. Malaysia Airlines’ Boeing 777 flight MH370, which flew from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, disappeared from radar in such a way that even after 12 years, no definite trace of it was found. The 239 people aboard that plane seemed lost somewhere in the air. This puzzle remains the same even today. Although the ocean may not have revealed its secrets yet, the searchers have not given up.

Now the Malaysian government has extended the mission to find this missing plane by one more year. British company Ocean Infinity, which is searching for debris in the deep sea, will now continue this work till June 2027. Transport Minister Anthony Lok gave this information on Monday (June 29, 2026) and said that the Cabinet approved this decision last Friday.

The thing to note is that this search is not starting from zero. Ocean Infinity is already exploring the southern Indian Ocean under a new agreement signed last year. Now its deadline has been extended from 1st July 2026 to 30th June 2027.

Why did the search time have to be extended?
There are two simple reasons behind this, first – there is still an area of about 7,428 square kilometers in the ocean floor which is yet to be completely scanned.
Second- Ocean Infinity also has to fulfill some of its other commercial commitments. Due to this, its main ships and equipment will be sent elsewhere for some time between November 2026 and April 2027.

Also read:- NASA Swift Telescope: ‘Brahmastra’ is rapidly falling towards the earth, NASA will spend Rs. 30 thousand crores to save it, know what is this

According to the government, these months are the season of calm seas when searching is safest and most effective. This extension has been given to compensate for this gap in between. The most interesting part of the whole deal is its terms. The Malaysian government has made it clear that this deal is on no find, no fee basis.

That means, Ocean Infinity will get a huge payment of around Rs 580 crore only when it brings out the debris of MH370 from the depths of the sea. If your hands remain empty, you will not get a single penny. Minister Lok also said that in the extension, all the conditions of the old agreement will remain the same.

It is important to know that the company had recently conducted a search between March 2025 and January 2026, but in that too no concrete evidence of the wreckage of the plane was found. This is why the families had requested the government to take the agreement forward to fully explore the remaining area.

Also read:- PM Modi’s master stroke made China put strings on Seychelles, India’s ships landed and immediately sent warships

That last message still haunts me today
Good night, Malaysian three seven zero… This was the last message from the pilot received by air traffic control. After this the plane changed its planned route and turned towards the wilderness of the Southern Indian Ocean where it is not easy to find.

Did the plane suffer from some technical fault, was it hijacked or did someone deliberately divert the path? These questions remain unresolved even today. The families of the passengers on board the plane are still waiting for a closure. Now it remains to be seen whether this one-year extension and Ocean Infinity’s advanced robotic technology will finally solve this 12-year-old puzzle.

Malaysia Enforces Social Media Ban: Malaysia has started implementing new rules banning children under 16 from creating social media accounts from Monday (1 June 2026). This step is being considered a part of global efforts to strengthen the online safety of children. However, not everyone agrees with this decision and some people have also expressed concerns about data security and possible surveillance.

Under the new rules, social media platforms with at least 8 million users in Malaysia will have to implement an age verification system. This includes big platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. These companies will have to ensure that children under 16 years of age cannot create a new account.

<iframe title="Attack on Lebanon: Trump की बात नहीं माने Netanyahu!
Also read: US Ro Khanna: Attacks on Hindus in America, hatred not tolerated! Proposal brought in US Parliament, 32 MPs gathered

Malaysian government issued instructions

According to the Communications and Multimedia Commission of Malaysia, age verification of existing users will be started within the next 6 months. Users who are below 16 years of age will be given one month time to download or transfer their photos, videos and other data. After this, ban or other action can be imposed on their account. The government has clarified that a fine of up to 10 million ringgit, or about 2.5 million US dollars, can be imposed on social media companies that do not follow these rules. However, if a child succeeds in creating an account by bypassing the rules, then there will be no punishment against his parents.

Ban in countries other than Malaysia

The Malaysian government says that the main objective of these rules is to protect children from harmful material, cyber bullying and excessive use of social media. The government believes that some platform features encourage children to stay online for a long time, which can affect their mental and social life. Many other countries of the world are also taking such steps regarding the online safety of children. Countries such as Australia, Brazil and Indonesia have implemented or announced age-based rules for social media use. At the same time, countries like Britain, France, Spain, Denmark, Thailand and South Korea are also considering similar policies.

What is the special purpose of banning social media?

The Regulatory Board of Malaysia has said that the purpose of these rules is not to distance children from digital technology. Rather, it aims to compel social media companies to increase user security, prevent excessive use, and take effective measures against underage users and harmful content. However, technology companies have not yet told how they will follow these rules. Meanwhile, Clara Koh has warned that a complete ban on children under 16 years of age could have the opposite effect. According to him, this may cause teenagers to leave safe and controlled platforms and move to parts of the Internet where monitoring and security measures are less.

Social media banned in Indonesia including Australia

Australia has implemented a complete ban on social media for children under 16 years of age. This rule came into effect from 10 December 2025. After this, Indonesia implemented a legal ban on social media for children under 16 years of age from 28 March 2026. In France, a bill to ban social media for children under 15 years of age has been passed by the Lower House, although it is yet to be approved by the Senate. Denmark is also working on a plan to ban social media for children under 15 years of age.

Ban in many countries of the world

Greece has started preparations to implement a social media ban for children under 15 from January 2027. At the same time, countries like Spain, Austria, Poland, Slovenia, Turkey and Britain are also considering new rules and possible restrictions to limit children’s social media use. In Italy, children under 14 years of age require parental permission to use social media. Under the rules already in force in France, parental consent is required for children under 15 years of age. In Germany too, parental permission is required for children between the ages of 13 and 16 to create or use social media accounts.

Iran War: Till now, the impact of the ongoing tension between US and Iran was visible on gas and petroleum products. But now it has made the everyday life of common people difficult. Now this can also affect people’s family planning. We are not saying this but the world’s largest condom manufacturing company Karex is saying this.

shortage of raw materials
In fact, this company believes that the prices of condoms may soon increase by 20% to 30%. The main reason for this increase is the ongoing war in Iran, due to which the supply chain is facing global problems. Due to the war, the raw material used in making condoms is not arriving on time. Due to which this supply is being disrupted.

There is a shortage of this stuff
Because of the war, raw materials such as synthetic rubber, nitrile, silicone oil and packaging materials linked to petrochemicals are supplied from the Middle East. Due to the war, their prices have increased rapidly and supply has also been affected. Due to increasing shipping costs and delays, there is a shortage of stock in the market. For this reason, companies are now planning to increase their prices. The CEO of Karex clearly said that the current situation is very critical and increasing the prices has become a compulsion for the company.

Demand for condoms increased in the market
The special thing is that on one hand the supply has been affected, on the other hand the demand for condoms has also increased in the market. Many reports believe that due to rising inflation and worries about the future, people are avoiding expanding their families, due to which the demand for condoms has increased by about 30%. Its effect can be seen in many countries including India. If the situation continues for a long time, not only will prices increase but there may also be a shortage of condoms in some places.

grand welcome preparations
According to the report of IANS, there is a lot of enthusiasm among the Indian community in Malaysia regarding PM Modi’s visit. A grand community program is being organized to welcome him in Kuala Lumpur, whose name is Welcome Modi Ji. Its special thing is that more than 750 artists will come on stage together and give a group dance performance.

The event may be recorded in the Malaysian Book of Records
The organizers claim that this event can be recorded in the Malaysian Book of Records. The application for records has already been made and the records team will be present on the spot. Let us tell you that this is PM Modi’s third visit to Malaysia. This is his first visit after India-Malaysia relations got the status of strategic partnership in August 2024.

What issues will be discussed
In such a situation, it is believed that during this tour, both the countries can take concrete decisions regarding the future roadmap. Overall, this visit of PM Modi is not limited to just welcome and celebrations, but will prove to be an important step towards strengthening the relations between India and Malaysia strategically, economically and culturally.

According to the Indian High Commission, about 15 thousand people of Indian origin can participate in the Welcome Modi ji program.
