The demand for electric vehicles is increasing rapidly in the Indian car market. By the beginning of 2025 and 2026, many new Electric SUVs will be launched in the country. Among them, big companies like Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra, Honda and Tata will present their vehicles. The specialty of these SUVs is that they will see a range of more than 500 km, advanced features and affordable prices. Let’s take a look at these upcoming electric SUVs.

Maruti Suzuki E Vitara

• Maruti is planning to launch its first electric SUV E Vitara in September 2025. It will be based on the Hartact-E skateboard platform, which is created with Toyota. It will get options for 49 kwh and 61 kwh battery packs. The big battery pack will give a range of more than 500 km. This SUV will come with 142 to 172 bhp power front-wheel drive system. It will have features like 10.25-inch touchscreen, 10.1-inch driver display, Adas and 7 airbags. It can cost between 17-25 lakhs and will compete with Hyundai Creta Electric and Tata CurvV.

Mahindra XUV 3xo Ev

• Mahindra will launch the XUV 3xo EV between 2025, which has just been given the S240 codename. This will be a sub-4-meter electric SUV and will compete with popular vehicles like Tata Nexon Ev. It will have 34.5 kwh and 39.4 kwh battery packs, which will give a range of about 400 km. Its design will come with EV-specific elements such as a new grill and aero-optimized wheels. Its price may be slightly more than the current XUV400.

Honda Elevate Ev

• Honda will introduce its first electric SUV Elevate EV in 2026. It will be based on the platform of Ice Elevate but will get the design update according to the EV. It will have a 40-50 KWh battery pack, which will give a range of about 450 km. Its design will be like the Ice model, but it will have close-off grille and new alloy wheels. It will compete with SUVs like Maruti E Vitara and Mahindra Be 6.

Mahindra xev 7e

• The next big launch of Mahindra will be XEV 7E, which will be the electric version of XUV700. It will be launched by the end of 2025. It will be based on the Inglo skateboard platform and will also have a 7-seater option. The XEV 7E will have 59 kwh and 79 kwh battery packs, which will give a range of 542-656 km. Its higher trims will also have an alternative to all-wheel drive. EV-specific graphics, digital instrument clusters and new touchscreen will be seen in it. It can compete with Tata Harrier Ev.

Tata Sierra Ev

• Tata Motors will introduce its iconic SUV in a new electric avatar. Sierra EV will be launched in the festive season of 2025 and it will be based on the acti.Ev platform. It will have 65 kwh and 75 kwh battery packs, which will give a range of about 627 km. It will have the option of RWD Standard and AWD. Its design will be inspired by the 1990 Sierra, which will have a large rear glass. Its interior will be like Harrier EV and it will get V2L and V2V charging capacity. Its price can be 25-30 lakhs.

Suzuki and Toyota are making similar vehicles on the same platform in the Indian market and selling them with different names. So far, this list includes models like Ertiga-Ruman, Fronx-Teser, Baleno-Glainza and Innova-Invito. Now another new model is going to be added to this list soon.

Actually, Toyota has recently introduced its new Urban Cruiser EV in the 2025 Gayakindo Indonesia International Auto Show. According to reports, this electric SUV can be launched in India under the name Maruti e-Vitara or Maruti E-Suskudo. This SUV will be prepared on the platform of E-Vitara.

How is the front look and interior?

• The front look of Toyota Urban Cruiser Ev is quite attractive and modern. It has a hammerhead-style grill, which gives it a “smiley face”. With this, LED DRLs and pixel-style turn indicators make it even more stylish. Talking about the side and rear look, it has body-collar door handle, wheel arch cladding and black-out pillars. At the same time, there are premium features like shark fin antenna, roof mounted spiiler and rear wipers in the rear part.
• Talking about the interior, the interior of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Ev is very similar to Maruti Eskudo, but some extra and better features are seen in it. It has a 10.25-inch multi-information display and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which supports Android Auto and Apple Carplay in a wireless manner. Apart from this, it has features like wireless charger, shift-by-wire gear system, ambient lighting, fixed glass roof and dual-deck center console.
• The length of this electric SUV is 4,285 mm, width 1,800 mm, height 1,640 mm, and wheelbase 2,700 mm. It is larger than Toyota Yaris Cross and slightly smaller than BZ4X. Talking about Paurtrain and Battery, Toyota Urban Cruiser EV will be launched in three different variants. Fast charging support up to 150 kW has been provided in all these variants, which will save a lot of savings in charging time.

When will it be launched in India?

• There is no official date for the launch in India at present, but it has been showcased in Indonesia International Auto Show 2025. It is expected that this SUV will be launched in India after Maruti E-Vitara.
