Assembly membership of Abbas Ansari, MLA from Mau Sadar assembly seat in Uttar Pradesh and son of Mukhtar Ansari has been restored. The Assembly Secretariat issued this order on Monday (September 8). Earlier, on 20 August 2025, the Allahabad High Court had canceled the decision of the lower court and stayed their sentence, now their legislature was restored.

Following this order issued by the Assembly Secretariat, the proposed by -election in Mau Sadar Assembly seat has been postponed. Please tell that Abbas Ansari was sentenced to two years by Mau’s MP-MLA court in the Hate Speech case, due to which his membership was canceled.

What is written in the order of the Assembly Secretariat

The order issued by the Assembly Secretariat to restore the assembly of Abbas Ansari, in the order that Abbas Ansari, Member Legislative Assembly, Constituency No. 356, Mau, Crime of Crime No. 9720/2022 and Case No. 97/2022, Police Chief Judicial Magistrate/Court Special Judge (Mp/Mp/ML 0) On May 31, 2025, a penalty of more than two years was passed against him, finding defect by Mau. As a result, his place in Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly was declared vacant by notification number-67/VS/P/2005, dated 01 June, 2025, from May 31, 2025, from May 31, 2025, considering Abbas Ansari as Nirrh from May 31, 2025.

After which in 2022, Abbas Ansari won the election with Subhaspa-SP alliance.

If the by -elections are held in Mau Sadar seat, then it will be very interesting to see who will tie the victory on whose head. This seat has been a Muslim -dominated seat, so till date the BJP has not won here. At the same time, Subhaspa has started batting for this seat.
