The troubles of Mukhtar Ansari’s family are not showing signs of decreasing. The Gangster Court in Mau has completely justified the District Magistrate’s order to confiscate property worth crores of Mukhtar Ansari’s absconding wife Afsha Ansari. The court clearly acknowledged that this property was acquired through illegal earnings and criminal activities.

The court of District Mau Special Judge, Gangster Court Rajeev Kumar Vats, while giving a major verdict during the hearing of gangster cases, has confirmed the order passed by the District Magistrate Mau on the attached property of Mukhtar Ansari’s wife Afsha Ansari.

Consequences of property obtained from crime – Court

On behalf of the state, Special Public Prosecutor (Gangster Act) Krishna Sharan Singh, citing the documents and evidence presented before the court, said that the land purchased by Afsha Ansari was taken from illegally earned money. The court, after perusing all the documents and arguments, found that the property was entirely the result of crime.

A case was registered against Afsha Ansari and others.

This case is related to Police Station South Tola, Mau, where a case was registered against gang leader Afsha Ansari and other accused under the Gangster Act. During the investigation, illegal assets worth crores (estimated value – ₹ 3.36 crore) in the name of Afsha Ansari were revealed, after which it was confiscated as per the rules.

‘The attachment order is completely legal’

This attachment order was referred to the Gangster Court by District Magistrate Mau. After examining all the records, evidence and arguments of the prosecution, the court held that the property was acquired through crime and hence the attachment order under the Gangster Act is completely valid. Thus, the court’s decision has given great legal strength to the administrative action and the attachment of Afsha Ansari’s property has now been finally confirmed.

The High Court has stayed the proceedings of the trial court till the next hearing. A case of violation of code of conduct was registered against Abbas Ansari for gathering crowd without permission. Let us tell you that Abbas Ansari has demanded cancellation of the charge sheet filed in the petition. FIR was lodged in Kotwali police station of Mau district.

Threat was given from the stage to teach a lesson after the elections

Mau MLA Abbas Ansari was the candidate of Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party. He had held a meeting without permission on March 3, 2022 at 8:30 pm at Paharpura Ground. In this meeting, a crowd was gathered and a threat was given from the stage to stop Mau’s administration from doing the accounts after the elections and then teach a lesson.

Apart from Abbas Ansari and brother, FIR was against 150 others.

In this case, the next day on March 4, 2022, Sub Inspector Gangaram Bind had lodged an FIR in the Kotwali police station, in which the names of Abbas Ansari, younger brother Omar Abbas Ansari and 150 unknown persons were in this FIR. Now the next hearing of the case will be on 1 December 2025. Advocate Upendra Upadhyay has presented the case on behalf of Abbas Ansari. The case has been heard in the single bench of Justice Sameer Jain.

Let us tell you that, in this case, the assembly membership of MLA Abbas Ansari from Mau Sadar assembly seat was restored. The Assembly Secretariat has also issued an order in this regard on 8 September 2025.

The Allahabad High Court will pronounce the verdict on 20 August 2025 at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, on the petition of late Mukhtar Ansari’s son and former MLA Abbas Ansari. Immediately after this, it will be clear whether the by -election will be held in Mau Sadar Assembly seat in Uttar Pradesh or Abbas Ansari will remain an MLA.

The High Court reserved the decision on July 30 after the completion of the debate of both sides. Justice Sameer Jain’s single bench will pronounce the verdict. Abbas Ansari has filed a petition demanding the cancellation of 2 years sentence from MP MLA Special Court Mau.

A notice was issued by the Principal Secretary of the Assembly, in which Mau seat was declared vacant.

Rajbhar spoke on the membership of Abbas Ansari

On the status of the cancellation of the assembly membership of Mau Sadar MLA Abbas Ansari, Rajbhar said that the by -election is prepared on the basis of the order of the court. Abbas Ansari is the leader of the Samajwadi Party, and he will remain SP MLA till the end of his membership. It is recorded in the Election Commission records. During the 2022 assembly elections in Mau, Uttar Pradesh, Subhaspa MLA Abbas Ansari had said during addressing the public meeting that, after the formation of the government, he will see the officer.
