A special dinner was organized by Maulana Mahmud Madni, President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind Maulana Mahmood Madni at Delhi’s Shangri-La Hotel on Wednesday night (July 23, 2025). Many MPs from opposition parties attended this dinner. Facials like Congress leaders Imran Pratapgarhhi, Imran Masood, SP MPs Singh Patel and Zia ur Rehman Burke were present in it.

Concern was expressed about the current situation in the meeting. There was a serious discussion on increasing violence and hatred against the Muslim community. Maulana Madani said that this is the time to unite and strengthen the voice of Muslim society.

What happened in this meeting:

On the action of bulldozers in Assam:
There was a demand to set up a Parliamentary Committee and this committee should visit Assam and arrange for the homeless people and arranged for their rehabilitation there.

On SIR process happening in Bihar:
In the meeting, all the MPs promised that this issue should be raised strongly in the Parliament and outside it. Maulana Madani said that this SIR should not be made NRC. In India, the right to vote from his urban should not be taken away. It is like snatching their rights from citizens to seek evidence of their legacy.

On Hate Speech and Hate Crime:
It was mentioned in the meeting that BJP leaders have given a lot of hate speech in recent times and in the year 2024 UP CM Yogi Adityanath has given the highest hate speech. The meeting demanded that strict laws should be enacted on this issue. And the police also do not take action on them. 13% FIR was done in these cases, most of which is the leader of the opposition. Even PM and Home Minister have given a hate speech in the Lok Sabha elections.

On the issue of caste census:
Caste census was supported in the meeting. Madani said that this is the need of Muslims. Because it is said about Muslims that there is no difference in the name of caste in their religion, but the truth is that there are many sections among Muslims such as Pasmanda and rest, they are different on the basis of caste.

On the issue of Palestine:
All the MPs involved in the meeting themselves said that the attitude of the Government of India about Palestine is not good, which has always been the policy of Prof. Palestine of India, it is being ignored, and now humanity in Palestine is in danger. The MPs said that he will soon hand over to the President, becoming a memorandum on this issue.

Arshad Madani on Udaipur Files: The petition filed against the film ‘Udaipur Files’ in the Delhi High Court was heard on Wednesday. On behalf of Maulana Arshad Madni, President of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind, senior advocate Kapil Sibal made arguments before the bench of Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyay and Justice Aneesh Dayal. The petition claimed that the film hurts the religious sentiments of a particular community and is going to spread hatred in the society.

Film scenes objectionable- Sibal
Kapil Sibal said that there are scenes in the film which incorrectly reflect the Muslim community and this can promote religious fanaticism in the society. He requested the court that publicly displaying such a film is a violation of the basic principles of the Constitution.

Censor board claims- disputed scenes removed
The lawyer of the censor board informed the court that all those scenes have already been removed from the film which could be considered objectionable. Now there is nothing in the film that hurts the spirit of a community.

Court directive – The entire film should be shown to the petitioner
The Chief Justice clarified that freedom of expression does not mean that religious sentiments were hurt. He directed that the petitioner’s lawyers should be screened for the entire film so that it can be decided whether there is some objectionable left in the film.

Arshad Madani expresses satisfaction, next hearing tomorrow
Maulana Arshad Madani said that the court proceedings were satisfactory. He also said that the censor board and the filmmaker accepted our objections and claimed that the disputed scenes have been removed from the trailer. He hoped that after the screening, the court would give a decision that will maintain the dignity of the Constitution and respect the religious sentiments of Muslims.
