At this time, a very important information has come to light for medical colleges across the country. If they want to continue their admission to MBBS seats in the academic session 2026-27, they will have to do one thing by May 30, 2026. This instruction has been issued directly by the National Medical Commission (NMC). It has been said in clear words that no time will be given to any college after the fixed date.

Actually, NMC has asked all the medical colleges and institutions to submit the “Annual Disclosure Report” on the NMC portal. Submission of this report is now not just a formality but has become a necessary condition for renewal of MBBS seats.

Why is this report important?

According to NMC rules, under Regulation 4 of MSMER 2023, every medical college has to submit its annual information to the commission. This includes college education, staff, facilities, infrastructure, status of students and other important information. On the basis of this report, NMC decides whether the college should be allowed MBBS seats in the next academic session or not.

On which colleges is this rule applicable?

This instruction is applicable to all those medical colleges and institutions which have a valid LoP from NMC for running MBBS course. This means that the colleges which are already teaching MBBS will also have to submit this report.

Submission will have to be done through NMC portal only.

The report can be submitted only on the official portal of NMC. Information sent offline or through any other means will not be valid. The nodal officer of each college has already been given a username and password. If any college has not yet registered its AEBAS (Attendance System) with NMC, then it will not be able to login to the portal.

For the convenience of the colleges, NMC has also uploaded a detailed “User Manual” on the portal, which explains step-by-step how to fill the report. The Commission has clearly said that before filling the report, read this manual carefully.

Once submitted, no changes

NMC has also warned that once the report is submitted, no changes can be made in it. Therefore, whatever information is filled, it should be completely correct and match the information given to all the NMC boards. The Commission has also said that if needed, this information can also be made public.

Fees will also have to be paid online

Along with submitting the report, medical colleges will also have to deposit a fee of Rs 3,54,000 (including 18% GST) online. This payment will be made only through the payment gateway of the portal. Payment made through any other method will not be accepted.

What is the last date?

NMC has said in strict words that no report will be accepted after May 30, 2026. No college will get the benefit of extending the deadline.
