Muskaan, who is in jail in the case of murder of her husband Saurabh Rajput in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, has been sent to barrack number 12A of Meerut jail along with her newborn daughter after being discharged from the medical college and hospital. Jail Superintendent Viresh Raj Sharma said that Muskaan and her daughter are completely healthy and the vaccination of the girl will be done in the jail premises itself.

According to the Superintendent, till now there has been no written demand from any party for DNA testing of the girl, hence the jail administration has not started any process of DNA testing. Jail sources said that Muskaan’s pregnancy was revealed during the routine medical checkup. She gave birth to a daughter through normal delivery in the medical college at around 6:50 pm on Monday evening.

Muskaan was brought to Meerut jail

Doctors declared both of them healthy and ordered them to be sent back to jail under police protection on Wednesday afternoon, after which they were brought to the jail premises in a police vehicle. According to jail sources, Muskaan has been kept in barrack number 12A, where many women with small children already live. He told that apart from Muskan and her child, there are 21 women prisoners and three children present in this barrack.

Sources said that even after the birth of the daughter, no family member reached the jail to meet Muskaan. The jail superintendent said that Muskaan’s father Pramod Rastogi and mother Kavita are taking care of her first daughter Pihu, but did not come to see the newborn Radha. At the same time, no one from Saurabh’s family has reached jail.

Care will be taken as per jail rules

Senior Jail Superintendent Dr. Veeresh Raj Sharma said that the jail doctors will regularly check the health of Muskaan and her daughter. Jail sources told that Muskaan is being given nutritious food and currently no work will be taken from her, after a month she will be made to do light work. Crèche facility is available for children in the jail and the girl child will also be registered in Anganwadi. According to jail rules, all necessary items will be provided to the mother and child.
