Meanwhile, songwriter Manoj Muntashir, who recently wrote songs for the film, has shared his experience of writing songs for the film.

it took 9 months

Recently, Manoj Muntashir had a special conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, during which he was asked whether the songs of Border 2 were written suddenly or there was a long continuous process behind it. In response to this question, Manoj said, ‘This song was not written in a day or a few hours. It was written and changed continuously for about 9 months. Many times the words seemed good, then when a new tune came, I felt that something deeper than this could be written. It was a continuous practice, in which emotions were involved every day.

Emotional experience

Further, when Manoj was asked about his experience of writing the songs of ‘Border 2’, he told that it has been a very emotional experience. Manoj said, ‘Many times tears would come while writing. There were some lines which could not control emotions while writing. This song was a call for those characters and the story, which cannot be written without being sensitive.

Let us tell you that Manoj Muntashir has recreated those songs of ‘Border 2’ which had become cult classics from the album of the 1997 film ‘Border’. Not only this, he has also written new songs for this film. All these songs are being liked very much. Manoj has breathed new life into old songs with new lyrics.

Yesterday i.e. on 23rd January, Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, Diljit Dosanjh starrer film ‘Border 2’ was released. This film is getting good response from the audience. Due to which the entire team including the star cast of the film is very happy. Before the release of this film, Javed Akhtar had given a statement regarding taking the song ‘Sandesh Aate Hain’ from the film again in ‘Border 2’. On which now singer Sonu Nigam has given his reaction.

Sonu Nigam has shared a video along with the release of the film. In this video he has responded to Javed Akhtar’s statement. Sonu is saying in this video, ‘In 1997 I was going to the premiere of Border for the first time and now in 2026 I am standing at the premiere of Border 2’. Taking the name of Javed Akhtar, he said, ‘Yes, Javed Saheb has rightly said that bringing old songs again is not so good. But if the border is a soldier then the messages that come are his uniform. How can we imagine a border without it? And yes, Javed Sir rightly said that new songs should be brought, so Son of Soil is a gift for the soldiers.

What did Javed Akhtar say?
Javed Akhtar had said in his statement that he had received an offer to write songs for ‘Border 2’ but he had refused it. He strongly criticized the trend of remakes of classic tracks and called it intellectual and creative bankruptcy. However, on his statement, the film’s producer Bhushan Kumar had also said that we could not have even imagined this film without ‘Sandesh’. Now this reaction of Sonu shows how important this song is for the makers.

Let us tell you that in 1997 also this song was sung by Sonu Nigam. And again in 2026, he has lent his voice to this song along with other singers. In ‘Border 2’ this song has been named ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’. Vishal Mishra, Arijit Singh, Diljit Dosanjh have also lent their voices to this emotional track. This song has once again been included in the list of superhit songs. Its lyrics have been written by Manoj Muntashir.

Actor Varun Dhawan recently did an Ask Me Anything session. During this, he told many things about the film Border 2. He also reacted to the story of the film and how much hard work he put into it. Varun also told that when will he show his daughter’s face.

How did you do physical preparation for Border 2? How much did you work out? In response to this question he said, ‘A lot of preparation had to be done. Actually, during the shooting of Battle of Basantar, I got injured in my tail bone. For this I spent 40 days in Babina with real soldiers.

What is the story of Border 2?

Varun told that the story of Border 2 is based on the 1971 war. He said, ‘The story of the film is based on the 1971 war. As we all know, it was a battle in which many lives were lost on both sides. Our soldiers made a lot of sacrifices to win.

Regarding his character, Varun said, ‘While playing my role in Border 2, I could not take the place of any of my soldiers. They live very different lives from us. The army just guided me. I tried to be honest in that moment.
