MG Motor has once again increased the prices of its electric car COMET EV. In July 2025, the company made all variants expensive, with the most impact on customers who are thinking of buying or driving a car under ‘battery subscription’ i.e. Battery-AA-A-Service (BaAS) model. This is the second major price hike for COMET EV in 2025, earlier the prices were also increased at the beginning of the year. Rising prices simply means that now taking Mg Comet Ev will be heavy on your pocket.

What a huge increase?

The Executive variant of Mg Comet Ev Electric Car has now been priced at Rs 7.50 lakh (ex-showroom), which was earlier Rs 7.36 lakh. EXCITE, Excite Fast Charging and Exclusive variants have increased by Rs 15,000 for all, after which their new prices have increased by Rs 8.57 lakh, Rs 8.97 lakh and Rs 9.56 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively. The prices of Exclusive Fast Charging and Blackstorm Edition Trims have also increased to Rs 14,000-15,000. There is no new feature or upgrade in it, only prices have increased.

Battery subscription is also expensive now

If you take Mg ComeT EV with battery subscription, the ex-showroom price of the base executive variant is still Rs 4.99 lakh, but all the variants above have been increased by up to Rs 15,000. The biggest thing, the rental fees of the Recruitful Battery have also increased. Earlier this fee was Rs 2.90 per km, now it has been reduced to 3.10/km. That is, the more you run, the more the expenditure on you will increase. If you drive 1,000km a month, now you have to pay more than 200 rupees.

Specifications and features

Talking about the specifications of Mg ComeT EV, this car is designed for urban users and short-destination travel. It has a compact design that makes city driving easier. The car has an electric motor which is capable of giving around 230km (ARAI claimed) range on single charge. It provides lithium ion battery pack, which supports fast charging. The company says that this is 0 to 100% charge in about 7 hours, while this time can be less than fast charger. The Mg Comet Ev comes with the front-wheel drive system and also has a regenerative braking, which increases the efficiency of the battery.

In interior and features, Mg COMET EV is smart in its segment. It provides advance features like dual 10.25-inch digital display (infotainment and driver console), wireless android auto and apple carplay, digital smartkee support and AI Voice Assistant. Two airbags, ABS+EBD, reverse camera and electronic stability program are available for safety. The car has a 4-seater layout and under the I-Smart Suite, you can monitor/control the entire car with your smartphone. It also includes practical details such as dual tone interior, LED lights, push start-stop buttons and single speed automatic transmission.

How much will you have to pay down-payment and EMI?

According to EMI calculation, for the remaining 6.75 lakhs, if the bank gives a loan for a period of 5 years (60 months) at an interest rate of 9%, then you will have to pay a installment of about 14,000 every month. About 1.65 lakh extra will have to be paid as total interest in this period. However, it depends on the conditions of the calculation bank, your CIBIL score and the finance policy of the dealership, so the amount of EMI may be slightly up and down.

Talking about the battery, motor and range, the MG COMET EV provides a lithium-ion battery of 17.3 khh, which generates 41.42 bhp power and 110 Nm of torque with a single motor setup. This car gives a range of 230 km in full charge once certified by ARAI, which is enough for the use of the city. This electric car has three driving modes, Eco, Normal and Sports, which facilitates customizing performance for different riding needs. It takes about 7 hours to charge 0 to 100% with the help of 3.3 kw AC charger.
