Microsoft’s latest research is making it clear that chatbots like AI, especially Copilot, are no longer research or tools, but they are moving towards changing the real working world as well. The company studied more than 2 lakh anonymous interactions on its Bing Copilot Chatbot service, which tried to understand which jobs AI could have the most impact. The name of this study is “Working with AI: Measuring the Occupational Implications of Generative Ai” and it is currently available in pre-print form.

Microsoft’s 41 pages Study It is said that AI tools like Copilot are most helpful in tasks like writing, research and external communication. That is, jobs in which daily work is of these types, such as content writing, customer support, translation or sales. AI’s usage was seen more in these jobs. At the same time, the effect of AI on the work which is associated with physical labor or healthcare support was found to be very low or almost no.

Danger or help from AI? Researchers reply

Microsoft researcher Kiran Tomlinson and his team say that if AI can do some work, he will replace man “. He says that AI can help the task in many jobs, but this does not mean that he will do the entire job himself. For example, after the arrival of Automated Taylor machines (ATMS), the number of bank branches and teller increased upside down.

A new “AI Applicability Score” was designed in research, which suggests how many matching the capabilities of a job profile task AI. Based on this score, it was seen that the use of AI is mostly more effective in those jobs where Bachelors degree or above is necessary.

Which jobs are the highest and lowest impact?

The report stated that AI has the highest scope in profession like interpreters, historians, writers and customer service. On the other hand, jobs which are completely based on physical labor or machine operations, such as pile driver operators, housekeepers, massage therapists, dishwashers foundry mold makers or rail track workers, AI’s role is very limited there.

Researchers also admitted that their figures are taken only from Bing Copilot and the search engine associated with the search engine probably shows more tasks such as Information Gathering. Computers and math related usages were found more on other AI chatbots like claude.

Will AI get a job?

The direct answer to this question has not been given in research. The focus of the report was on which jobs AI could “help”, not to replace them completely. That is, for now, if you are in a field like content creation, translation or communication, then you should understand AI and work with it, but there is nothing to fear.
