Milk Price Hike: There is a period of inflation going on across the country, after petrol and diesel, now the prices of other everyday items are also continuously increasing. In this series, a few days ago companies like Amul and Mother Dairy had increased the prices of milk. After which the companies of Punjab and Kerala states have increased the prices. Now recently, Bihar company Sudha Dairy has also decided to increase the prices of milk.

How much did milk prices increase?
Actually, Sudha Dairy Company of Bihar has decided to increase the prices of milk by Rs 2. These new prices will come into effect from 22 May 2026 i.e. tomorrow. In such a situation, this is going to put a lot of burden on the common people of Bihar.

What will the new prices be like?
After the increase of 2 rupees in the milk of Sudha Company, now let us tell which milk will be available for how much rupees:

• Full Cream Milk (Gold) was earlier available at Rs 65 per liter, now after the increase in prices it will be available at Rs 67.
• Sudha Shakti milk which was available till now at Rs 57 per liter will now be available at Rs 59 per liter.
• Sudha Cow Milk was till now Rs 54 per litre, which will now be available at Rs 56 per litre.
• Sudha Healthy (Toned) milk which was earlier priced at Rs 52 per liter will now be available at Rs 54 per liter.
• Sudha Smart (Double Toned) will be available at Rs 28 per half litre.

Why was the increase made?
Amul and Mother Dairy were the first to increase the prices of milk products. After which now Sudha Dairy of Bihar has also increased the prices of milk. This decision has been taken due to the increasing cost of production, rising prices of animal feed and distribution expenses. This is going to have a direct impact on the household budget of the common man. Due to increase in milk prices, tea, sweets, curd, cheese and other dairy products can also be affected.

Let us tell you that recently Kerala company Milma has also increased the prices of milk by Rs 4. The prices of petrol and diesel including milk are continuously increasing across the country due to the ongoing war between Iran and the US. Due to this war, there is a problem in the import of crude oil, due to which the prices of petrol and diesel are increasing. Due to this, the prices of transport and freight are also increasing, due to which companies are now forced to pass the burden of this inflation on the public.

How much will prices increase?
Recently a new government has been formed in Kerala, VD Satheesan took oath on 18 May. After which the people of the state are going to be hit by inflation. State dairy organization Milma has decided that they are going to increase the prices of their milk products. Now the company’s milk price is being increased by Rs 4 per litre. These new rates are going to be implemented from June 1.

Company chairman gave information
Milma Company Chairman KS Mani has informed about the increase in milk prices after the meeting of the Board of Directors. He said that milk producers will get a major share in the increase in prices. Talking about this decision, he said that ‘the decision to increase the price is not new. This was also approved by the previous government, but it was not implemented due to the Election Code of Conduct being in force at that time.

He further said that after the new government took charge, the board discussed this issue again. The situation regarding the minister of the department was not clear, so a meeting was held directly with the Chief Minister. After getting approval from the Chief Minister, the final decision to increase the price of milk has been taken.
