The recent incidents of attacks on minorities in Bangladesh have shocked the entire world. The most shocking incident among these was the murder of minority Hindu youth Dipu Chandra Das in Mymensingh district, which was committed by the fundamentalist mob of Bangladesh. These incidents not only created concern at the international level, but also led to tension in India-Bangladesh relations due to large-scale protests in India this week.

The country’s security is in a very bad condition- Chatterjee

Meanwhile, Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council Presidium member DN Chatterjee said on Saturday (December 27, 2025) that minorities are not safe in Bangladesh. Chatterjee also expressed serious concern about the deteriorating security situation in Bangladesh.

He said, ‘The whole world is aware of the current situation in Bangladesh, especially the recent unfortunate incidents. At the national level, you have seen vandalism and arson in the offices of major media institutions of the country, the brutal murder of Dipu Chandra Das and many other such incidents across the country. Describing the security situation in the country as very bad, he accused the interim government led by Mohammad Yunus of being inactive in this unstable situation.

Speaking to news agency ANI, DN Chatterjee said, ‘The security situation in the country is extremely pathetic, it is terrible. The government is very inactive and is not taking the situation seriously. Everything has gone haywire.

He also said, ‘Minorities in Bangladesh have been exploited and persecuted for decades, but no one paid attention to their suffering and pain. If I assess the entire situation of minorities, the entire community is troubled and scared in every way. They are living in an atmosphere of complete terror.
