After the massive defeat of the Grand Alliance in the Bihar Assembly elections (2025), a review meeting of RJD was held at the residence of Tejashwi Yadav on Monday (November 17, 2025). In this, a strategy was made for the future. RJD spokesperson Shakti Singh Yadav told the media about what was decided in the meeting. He said that in the meeting held, Tejashwi Yadav has been elected as the leader of the legislative party.

Shakti Yadav said that all the RJD candidates were present in the meeting. There were also winning MLAs. First a meeting was held with the elected MLA. In this, everyone elected Tejashwi Yadav as the leader of RJD’s legislative party. In the review meeting, National President Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi and senior leaders as well as Jagdanand Singh presented their views.

‘The mandate that came… is not being digested’

RJD spokesperson said that people also gave their opinion on this mandate. Because every person of Bihar was aware of the situation on the ground. There was a resentment against the government, but the way the mandate has come, it is not being digested.

In the meeting, Lalu Yadav gave freedom to Tejashwi Yadav to work independently. Said that he will take the party forward as a whole. Although Tejashwi Yadav said that if you want, you can choose someone else as leader, but no one was ready. Due to the opinion of all the people, he (Tejashwi) had to take the responsibility and was elected the leader of RJD legislative party.

Work will be done at booth and panchayat level

Further on the election results, Shakti Yadav said that this is machinery management mandate. Our review will run. Election Commission rules were flouted. Elections were going on and money was being sent to the account. This is the result of the machinery management that has taken place. We are not going to lose. We are talking on all points. Told the NDA that they are going to form the government, absolutely form the government and you should live up to the public sentiments. Regarding the future strategy, Shakti Yadav said that RJD will move forward to work at booth level and panchayat level.

RJD MLA Bhai Virendra said, “Tejashwi Yadav has been elected by the newly elected MLAs as the leader of the Legislative Assembly on behalf of the party. We will work on the guidelines given. There has been theft in EVMs. We have to fight against EVMs. We have won the elections because of what has happened with the ballot paper. We have lost in the EVMs only.”

In the first phase of Bihar Assembly elections, voting is going on with full zeal and enthusiasm since morning today (6 November). Meanwhile, the family of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav also arrived to cast his vote. Grand alliance’s chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav voted from Raghopur seat. Along with him, his mother and former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, sister Misa Bharti and sister Rohini Acharya also exercised their franchise.

Change is necessary, create a new Bihar – Tejashwi Yadav

After casting his vote, Tejashwi Yadav said, “We will only say that change is necessary, create a new Bihar, form a new government.” He further said, “We all together have to make Bihar number one, we have to create a new Bihar where there is a government with education, medicine, earning, irrigation, hearing and action, a government free from corruption and crime. We have to form such a government which does not lathicharge the youth and does not leak papers.”

Rabri Devi blessed her sons

Former Chief Minister Rabri Devi also came to cast her vote. After voting, he said, “There is an appeal to all the voters to cast their vote. Mother’s best wishes to both the sons, blessings to both of them.” He said that this time the public is voting against inflation, unemployment and corruption.

People want change- Misa Bharti

RJD MP Misa Bharti also expressed her views after voting. He said, “This time the public wants change, and change will happen.” Misa appealed to the voters, “Vote thoughtfully for your future, for the future of your children. Give your support to the Grand Alliance.”

Lalu Yadav’s daughter and RJD leader Rohini Acharya said, “This election is for our labor brothers who are struggling from pillar to post for employment in the villages. I am confident that our people, the people of Bihar, will elect a government that provides employment and will uproot the double engine government.”

Rohini Acharya- Rohini Acharya posted on X after Lalu’s tweet and said, “Papa is divine for us, the family is our temple and pride and the untiring efforts of Papa and the concept of party and social justice made by the tireless efforts of Papa, our worship, our worship, due to anyone’s reputation, no one is confessed.”

Tejashwi Yadav- Regarding Tej Pratap, Tejashwi has said that the national president has made his spirit clear. We neither like all this thing nor do we tolerate it. As far as the elder brother is concerned, he is adult, he has the right, what decisions he takes.

Rabri Devi- However, no statement has been revealed from mother Rabri Devi. Neither has they come in front of the media nor any comment has been made on this entire controversy with his X handle.

MP Pappu Yadav with Tej Pratap’s decision

It is clear from the statements of family members that no one is in favor of Tej Pratap. Even though there is politics about this, but MP Pappu Yadav is in support of Tej Pratap. After this whole controversy came to light, Pappu Yadav made a clear statement in the press conference that Tej Pratap has not raped any. There are leaders in BJP who have rape and similar heinous allegations, are anyone removed?

At present, there has been no response from Tej Pratap Yadav after this entire controversy and after being expelled from the party-family. He said that someone has done the factory to Bihar, so he is Lalu Yadav. RJD spokesperson also retaliated
RJD spokesperson Chittaranjan Gagan reacted sharply to the speech given by Home Minister Amit Shah to the Bapu Auditorium of Patna, saying that the work of NDA and BJP leaders is the foundation stone of the schemes and only media headlines in the name of launch, it does not mean work. ‘Criminal incidents increased by 200% during the NDA rule’
The RJD spokesperson said that what could be a bigger joke than this that the BJP leader, who has been in power in Bihar for ten years and for almost two decades, has been seeking accounts from opposition leaders. They will get information about this only from government documents. Due to RJD’s reign, there has been an increase of two hundred percent in criminal incidents during the NDA rule.
