The Indian Air Force is now going to further strengthen its air security from Israeli’s advanced decoy system to save Rafale fighter jets from enemy missiles. According to sources, India has intensified efforts for the earliest supply of Israeli X-Guard Fiber-Optic Towed Decoy System.

What is this decoy system?

This system named X-Guard Towed Decoy has been created by the Israeli company. When an enemy attacks the missile aircraft, the dicky shows itself like a real aircraft, making the missile aiming the dicky instead of the real aircraft.

This system is connected to a cable behind the aircraft and is activated during the flight. When the mission is complete, it is pulled back into the aircraft.

Test has been done twice

India also tested this system in its Rafale Jet in 2019 and 2023. But the delivery is delayed due to tension in West Asia and interruption in supply chains. Now India wants it to be achieved as soon as possible.

Preparations to increase security after Operation Sindoor

In response to the Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April, India ran Operation Vermation on 7 May. After this, India has started further strengthening its Air Force. Many more advanced features are being added to Rafale aircraft, such as displays on helmets, enemies identified with sensors and ability to fly from high hilly areas.

Why is this decoy important?

The decoy system is a reliable way to avoid enemy missiles. With this, Rafale aircraft can also fly safely on dangerous missions. India now wants to further strengthen its Air Force with such a modern system.

Us golden dome system: US President Donald Trump on Tuesday (May 20) has announced a new and ambitious missile security system ‘Golden Dome’. The purpose of this system is to immediately detect, track and destroy the enemy missiles through satellite. US President Trump has kept a budget of $ 25 billion for the ‘Golden Dome plan’. However, it is about to cost about 175 billion dollars to create the entire system. Its complete construction will be done in America.

Talking about the Golden Dome project, President Trump said that it will be ready by the end of my tenure. America does not want to limit this project only to domestic security. It can open new doors of partnership with NATO countries. It is also a political message for countries like China and Russia. General Michael Gulatin has been nominated as the director of this system and superwaizing commander.

The Pentagon has already outlined the sensor, satellite and missile tests. Budget is preparing for the construction of the initial phase with acceptance. The Golden Dome project was presented by Trump as an election promise, which has now turned into a policy. With its help, the US will be able to make real time tracking and response of ICBM, Hypersonic and Cruise Missiles. America will get an edge in space dominance. Despite the sensitive system, it will prove to be a high-security defense system.
