Cricketer Mohammed Shami’s ex-wife Hasin Jahan has reached the Supreme Court to increase the maintenance allowance. On Friday (November 7, 2025), the court has issued a notice to the West Bengal government and Mohammed Shami on the petition.

Calcutta High Court had ordered a monthly maintenance allowance of Rs 4 lakh to Hasin Jahan and her daughter. Out of 4 lakh, 1.50 lakh is for Haseen Jahan and 2.50 lakh is for her daughter, but Haseen Jahan is not satisfied with this.

While making initial remarks, the Supreme Court said to Hasin Jahan that this maintenance allowance seems adequate. The court has issued notice to Bengal government and Shami and asked them to reply within 4 weeks. Now the next hearing will take place only after four weeks.

Hasin Jahan has demanded in the petition that Mohammed Shami should be directed to pay a monthly maintenance allowance of Rs 10 lakh. Seven lakh rupees for the expenses of the petitioner’s wife and three lakh rupees for the maintenance of the daughter.

Mohammed Shami and Hasin Jahan got married in the year 2014, but both separated in 2018 and since then there is a dispute going on between the two. Hasin Jahan had made serious allegations against Shami like domestic violence and match fixing. Due to these allegations, a criminal case has been registered against Mohammed Shami under the Indian Penal Code. However, Shami has got a clean chit from BCCI on the allegations of match fixing.

Haseen Jahan had also accused Shami of extra-marital affairs by sharing screenshots and telephone recordings of her conversation. Hasin Jahan also accused Shami and his family of trying to kill her. Haseen Jahan’s allegation was that Mohammed Shami had relations with different women from Bengaluru, Pune, Indore and Nagpur.

Hasin Jahan had posted a post on Instagram in July calling Mohammed Shami characterless, greedy and mean. He had written in the post, ‘Our relationship will remain strong till my last breath, Inshallah. Now we just have to decide how this relationship will be strengthened. We have been fighting a legal battle for seven years. What have you gained from this? Because of being characterless, greedy and selfish, you ruined your family.

He said that Shami took advantage of the male-dominated society. She had said that she will now seek legal help and claim all her rights and live happily.

The Kolkata High Court has ordered Mohammed Shami to give Rs 1.5 lakh every month to his wife Haseen Jahan for spending. Along with this, it has also been ordered to give Rs 2.5 lakh for daughter Ayra. Mohammed Shami’s daughter Aira, his wife Haseen, lives with Jahan. According to this, Shami will have to pay four lakh rupees every month.

Shami becomes seven years old

Mohammed Shami and Haseen Jahan were married in the year 2014. A year after the wedding, both of them had a daughter in 2015. But this relationship went on only four years and in 2018 both decided to divorce and the matter reached the court. This case has been going on in the court for seven years, in which now the Kolkata High Court has ruled. The High Court has said that Mohammed Shami will have to pay these four lakh rupees of the month for the last seven years.

Shami will have to pay one crore 26 lakh rupees for his wife Haseen where seven years at the rate of Rs 1.5 lakh every month. At the same time, at the rate of two and a half lakh rupees, daughter Ayra will have to pay two crore ten lakh rupees. In this way, Mohammed Shami has to pay 3 crore 36 lakh rupees for seven years. According to the order of the High Court, this money will have to be given for Haseen Jahan and Aira to stay.
