Anant Singh has become MLA from Mokama assembly seat. This time (2025) he contested the elections on JDU ticket. Although he was in jail during the elections. Nitish government has now allotted him a new duplex flat. This residence is in the MLA flat built in the second phase behind the Miller School grounds. Its number is 8/11. Mokama is written in front of the flat and assembly number 178 is written. This house is much smaller than the old bungalow.

RJD’s MLC and Rabri Devi’s mouthpiece Sunil Singh previously lived in the new duplex flat. This house was allotted in his name only. Presently Sunil Singh’s people live here. When Anant Singh became MLA for the first time in 2005, he was allotted a bungalow on Mall Road. This bungalow is quite big. It has two big grounds. Anant Singh is very fond of horses, cows and buffaloes. All these pets are still present in this bungalow.

Convoy of vehicles will not be allowed in the new residence

On Wednesday (December 10, 2025), the ABP News team reached the new residence. Just by looking at it, it became clear that this duplex flat is quite small. There are 8 to 10 vehicles in Anant Singh’s convoy and the bungalow which has just been found will not be able to accommodate so many vehicles. There is provision for parking of one car. The question of keeping cattle is far away.

There is a board of his wife Neelam Devi outside the old bungalow that Anant Singh got in 2005. Because before this his wife Neelam Devi was the MLA of Mokama. When Anant Singh was convicted in the 1-47 case and lost his membership, his wife Neelam Devi won from Mokama in the by-election.

Even at that time, a new residence was allotted to Neelam Devi, but she was living in the old bungalow (on Mall Road). Did not move to new residence. Now it remains to be seen whether Anant Singh moves into the new house allotted to him or not. In the past too, many MLAs and ministers have kept two residences each.

Anant Singh, a powerful leader of Bihar and a strong candidate of Janata Dal United (JDU) from Mokama assembly seat, has registered a landslide victory in the results of Bihar elections. According to Election Commission data, Anant Kumar Singh received a total of 91,416 votes. He defeated Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate and his rival Veena Devi by 28,206 votes, but after this victory, a question is roaming in the minds of the people of Mokama and Bihar. The question is whether Anant Singh will be able to join the Assembly this time? Will he be able to take oath as an MLA this time?

Actually, these questions are being discussed because JDU candidate Anant Singh, who won the election from Mokama assembly seat, is currently in jail. Anant Singh is accused of murdering Jan Suraj Party supporter and strongman leader Dularchand Yadav about two weeks ago, for which he has been arrested and is currently in jail. In such a situation, it is natural to raise questions that after winning the elections, will Anant Singh be able to join the Bihar Assembly?

Will Anant Singh be able to reach the Assembly for swearing in?,

The answer to these questions of the people of Bihar and Mokama now depends on the decision of the court. Actually, many criminal cases are pending against Anant Singh, in one of which the court had sentenced him to 10 years imprisonment. After this, his membership was canceled disqualifying him from the Assembly. However, he was later acquitted by the High Court.

charge sheet not filed

This time, during the assembly elections, Anant Singh has been arrested by the police on the charges of murder of Dularchand Yadav, but the charge sheet has not been filed against him yet. The police may take two to three months to complete this process. In such a situation, it is difficult for Anant Singh to come out of jail before the completion of the process.

Will you be able to take oath as an MLA?,

A case has been registered against Anant Singh on murder charges. In such a situation, will they be able to come out of jail even for the swearing-in ceremony? The answer to this question depends on the decision of the court, because the court does not grant bail easily in serious crime cases like murder. However, after the charge sheet is filed, the court can grant him bail, but this is also not completely clear.

How can Anant Singh enter the Assembly?

At the same time, if we talk about Anant Singh entering the Assembly after winning the elections, then he can go to the Assembly and participate in the proceedings there only after getting surety and taking oath. Now the final decision in this matter is in the hands of the court, if the court grants bail to Anant Singh, only then he will be able to participate in the assembly proceedings.

JDU has made Anant Singh its candidate from Mokama assembly seat of Bihar. Voting took place on this seat during the first phase of voting on 6 November. Anant Singh has been MLA from this seat before also. Now the second phase of voting is to be held on 11th November and the result will be announced on 14th November, but already preparations for the banquet have started in Patna claiming the victory of Anant Singh.

Anant Singh’s wife is currently the MLA from Mokama. He won after the by-election. In such a situation, this banquet is being organized at his official residence in Patna. On Monday (November 10, 2025), the correspondent of ABP News went to the place where people would gather and the feast would take place.

A huge pandal is being built… one lakh people will eat the feast.

Tents have started being made with the help of bamboo sticks in the grounds of the Government House. Looking at it, it seemed that a huge pandal was to be built. It is believed that around one lakh people will eat food here on the result day. A day before the results, a crowd of Anant Singh’s supporters will start gathering at his residence in Patna. Eating and drinking will also start from morning on the day of results.

Supporters are claiming 200 percent victory

Along with the preparations for the banquet, Anant Singh’s supporters are claiming that the victory of Dada (Anant Singh) is 200 percent certain. No one can stop Anant Singh from winning. Supporters are claiming victory but it remains to be seen what happens on the result day.

Let us tell you that this is not the first time that such a large scale banquet is being prepared at Anant Singh’s place. This has been seen many times before also. The reason is that on the day of results, a large number of people from their area Mokama also reach Patna. Considering the huge number, arrangements for everyone’s food and drink are made on such a large scale.

An FIR has been registered against Union Minister and JDU leader Rajeev Ranjan alias Lalan Singh on a statement given during the campaign in support of Anant Singh in Mokama. His first reaction on this has come to light. On Wednesday (November 05, 2025), Lalan Singh said on the FIR registered regarding the comment that the Election Commission is a constitutional institution. We all respect the Election Commission. If anyone listens to the full video that is being discussed then it will be known that what RJD has tweeted is misleading.

Lalan Singh said, “In the village where this video is taken, there lives a powerful leader of RJD. He does not allow the poor to go to the booth by intimidating them. I have only said that if this leader scares the poor, then the people of the village should surround him and stop him. If he wants to go to vote, then make him vote at the polling station and force him to stay at home again. No one can take votes by threatening the poor.”

‘Should we not protect our voters?’

JDU leader Lalan Singh said, “The poor is a voter of Nitish Kumar. He is our voter. So will we not protect our voters? Will we not encourage our voters? If you intimidate and threaten our voters then we are also a political party… We will encourage, right? Not to be afraid but to vote? The Election Commission also does this.”

The Union Minister said, “We want to ask a question to RJD… the way in the funeral procession of Dularchand Yadav, abuses were used by pointing out a particular caste and both the candidates of RJD were sitting in that vehicle, in their presence some society was singled out and abused, the video of which is viral in entire Bihar. Why is RJD not reacting on this? Does RJD want to bring the same rule as it was during the time of their father? There is rule of law in Nitish Kumar’s rule. We “Everyone respects the law.”

Senior JDU leader and Union Minister Lalan Singh addressed the people in Mokama last Monday (November 03, 2025) in support of JDU candidate Anant Singh. During this time he made such a statement that the political temperature has risen. There are attackers from Congress to RJD. The video containing Lalan Singh’s statement is being shared widely on social media and the Election Commission is being tagged.

In the video that is being shared, Lalan Singh is telling the people that there are one or two leaders and they should not be allowed to leave the house on the election day. Pack it at home. If many join hands and legs then say come with us and cast your vote.

Congress asked- Will the Election Commission take action?

Congress shared Lalan Singh’s video from its X handle on Tuesday (November 04, 2025). It is written, “Modi government minister Lalan Singh says – those who are going to vote against BJP-JDU, do not let them leave the house on the election day. Will the ‘impartial’ Election Commission take any action on this? Or will it keep pampering the leaders of BJP-JDU like every time?”

Clarification given by JDU on the statement

After Lalan Singh’s statement went viral, Nitish Kumar’s party has come to the rescue. JDU spokesperson Neeraj Kumar said that Lalan Singh has spoken about a leader and has not taken anyone’s name. There is a style of speaking in election campaign and in the same sequence, there has been talk of house arrest. Those voters who are unable to do so may have been asked to take them along. If the opposition is making Mokama the focal point, then Lalu Yadav is a convicted person, then why did he go to campaign for Ritlal Yadav?

Manoj Jha attacked the Prime Minister

On the question that Lalan Singh has said that the voters who are becoming leaders in Mokama should not be allowed to come out, RJD leader Manoj Jha said, “Ask the Prime Minister why he gets tied up. They tell stories of Jungle Raj and become silent here. Why is the Election Commission silent?”

On the other hand, according to Election Commission sources, Bihar Election Officer will soon issue a notice regarding Lalan Singh’s statement.

A case of violation of model code of conduct has come to light during a road show organized in Mokama assembly constituency on Monday (November 03, 2025) regarding Bihar Assembly elections (2025). Taking action in this regard, Patna Police has registered a case against the organizers of the program.

According to information received from Patna Police, Union Minister Lalan Singh and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary had conducted a road show in Mokama in support of JDU candidate Anant Singh. During this period, more vehicles were used in the campaign than allowed, which was considered a violation of the model code of conduct set by the Election Commission.

Police administration is continuously monitoring

Issuing an official statement, Patna Police said that the police administration is continuously monitoring to ensure adherence to the code of conduct during the assembly elections 2025. In this series, during the election campaign in Mokama assembly constituency on Monday, when more than the prescribed number of vehicles were found being used, the concerned vehicles were stopped and checked. A case has been registered for violating the model code of conduct by leaving the vehicles as per permission.

Anant Singh was arrested on the night of 1 November

Let us tell you, JDU candidate from Mokama Anant Singh is in Beur jail of Patna in the murder case of Dularchand Yadav. He was arrested late on the night of November 1. In such a situation, in the absence of Anant Singh, Union Minister Lalan Singh has taken charge of the election campaign. In this series, he reached Mokama for election campaign. Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary was also present with him. Both the leaders held a road show, for which only 10 vehicles were allowed, but more vehicles were included in the convoy.

Let us tell you that voting will be held in two phases for Bihar Assembly elections. The first phase of voting will be held on 6 November and the second phase of voting will be held on 11 November. The results will be declared on 14th November.

Also read- ‘Each person should contest elections as Anant Singh’, Lalan Singh roared in support of ‘small government’
