The Indian Army is known for its courageous actions even in difficult areas. The Army has once again performed a new feat amidst the high snow laden peaks of the Himalayas. The Indian Army has created a record by preparing a mono-rail at a height of 16 thousand feet on the border with China.

In fact, the Indian Army’s Gajraj Corps (headquarters Tezpur) has prepared a high-altitude monorail to deliver logistics and supplies to the soldiers to the snow-surrounded posts in Arunachal Pradesh. Through this rail, goods ranging from injured soldiers to 300 kg can be transported from one place to another.

The video of this mono-rail running in snow in Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh has been released by the Indian Army. In the video, soldiers can be seen carrying an injured soldier from one post to another through this mono rail. Indian Army’s regional spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Mahendra Rawat issued an official statement saying that there was adverse weather in the high altitude areas and a lot of difficulty in reaching the high peaks. In such a situation, this mono-rail can prove to be a milestone in high altitude logistics.

What can the army do through mono rail?
Due to being covered with snow, many army posts remain cut off from the field formation headquarters for many days. Apart from trekking, one had to face a lot of difficulties in reaching here through mules and other traditional transport. In such a situation, Gajraj Corps (4 Corps) of the army itself took the initiative to build this mono rail.

According to the Army, now through this mono rail, along with logistics, ammunition, fuel, engineering equipment and other heavy items can also be easily transported to the forward posts.

Second, new racks are being added fast so that the fleet can be modernized. Third, the old rack is also being upgraded so that their functionality can be brought equal to the new rack.

The time between trains will be reduced to 5 minutes

Earlier Monorail’s rack used to make Malaysia company, but now an Indian company in Hyderabad has prepared 10 new racks. After their use starts, the timing of trains will also be affected. Where earlier a train used to come every 15 to 18 minutes, now preparations are being made to reduce this gap to 5 minutes. Since these racks are made entirely in India, equipment during servicing will also be easily available.

Many modern features are being added to new racks and upgrade systems, such as make-in-India design, modern suspension for better ride comfort, fire safety based on international standards, microprocessor-based control systems, CCTV monitoring, special seats for Divyang, 230V AC Charging Points, Multillingual Passenger Afformsation Displays, dynamic root maps, fire detection systems, new copeler designs, tire and bearings monitoring systems, new motor and converter technology, LED lighting, modern interiors and availability of spare parts for the whole lifetime.

Monorail will be temporarily closed

MMRDA Commissioner Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee said that Monorail is being temporarily closed from Saturday so that improvements can be made by studying frequent disturbances. During this time, new trains will be entered and overhaling and repairing of old trains will be done. He said, “Monorail is now going to get the same modern system which is in the new lines of Mumbai Metro. The time between trains will be reduced to 5 minutes and passengers will also be given better facilities like Wi-Fi. New improvided monorail will soon be in front of passengers. ”
