The monsoon in Bihar has become fully active before farewell. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in many districts of North and South Bihar for the next four days.

According to the Meteorological Department, till September 18, there will be an active monsoon in all 19 districts of North Bihar. Eight of these districts- Kishanganj, Araria, West Champaran, Gopalganj, Vaishali, Saran, Samastipur and Khagaria have been expected to have very heavy rainfall.

Possibility of heavy rains in North Bihar

The Meteorological Department said that there is a cyclonic circulation in the upper air over the Northeast Bangladesh and Central Assam. This average is active at an altitude of about 3 to 5 kilometers above sea level. Due to these seasonal conditions, rain will be faster in North Bihar. The department has warned that excessive rainfall will increase the water level of rivers rapidly and flood -like situation can arise in many areas. People living on the banks of rivers have been advised to be cautious and careful.

Monsoon will also be active in South Bihar

According to the department, light to moderately active rainfall will also be seen in South Bihar. There is alert of heavy rain in 14 districts including the capital Patna in Monday’s weather forecast. There is a possibility of very heavy rains in Vaishali, Saran, Samastipur and Khagaria. At the same time, there is a possibility of heavy rains as well as thunderstorms and strong winds in Patna, Begusarai, Munger, Lakhisarai, Bhojpur, Muzaffarpur, Sheikhpura, Kishanganj, Araria and Supaul districts.

Last day rainfall and temperature fall

On Sunday too, torrential rains were recorded in many districts of North Bihar. Kishanganj received the highest 299.6 mm rainfall, which was placed in the category of very heavy rainfall. Saharsa (146.4 mm), Araria (144.2 mm) and Madhepura (110 mm) also received very heavy rainfall. Apart from this, rain from 65 to 95 mm was recorded in Begusarai, Supaul, Sheikhpura, Khagaria and Madhubani.

The temperature has also been seen to fall due to continuous rains. The Meteorological Department estimates that for the next five days, mercury will go down by three to four degrees across the state. On Sunday, the capital Patna recorded a maximum temperature of 31.1 degrees Celsius, which was 3.5 degrees lower than Saturday. At the same time, the maximum temperature in Rajgir of Nalanda was 33.9 degrees. Mercury was recorded between 28 and 30 degrees in many districts of north-eastern Bihar.

The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people to be cautious and follow the guidelines issued by the administration, as water logging and flood situation in the low -lying areas may become more serious due to heavy rains.
