Bhuvneshwar Kumar has also done this 2 times. He performed Kusal Perera in 2013 and Prabhasimran Singh in 2023 on the first ball of the match.

Umesh Yadav has taken wickets on the first ball of the IPL match 2 times due to his deadly bowling. He dismissed Chris Gayle in 2017 and Suryakumar Yadav in 2018 on the first ball of the IPL match.
