Twisha Mother in Law Girbala Singh Arrested: In the Twisha death case, CBI has arrested retired judge and Twisha Sharma’s mother-in-law Giribala Singh after several hours of interrogation. A CBI team reached the residence of retired MP High Court judge Giribala Singh on Thursday (May 28), hours after the anticipatory bail of him was cancelled. During this period, a heavy police force was present at Singh’s residence located at HIG 311 in Bagh Mughalia Extension, Bhopal. Here, CBI has also reached his house, where the investigating agency will prepare a virtual walkthrough to connect the links of the incident.

Under which sections was the case registered against Giribala Singh?
A case has been registered against him under several sections. Here a case has been registered under penal section 80 section 2 for dowry death. Apart from this, a case has been registered under Section 85, which punishes cruelty to a married woman by her husband or any relative, and Joint Criminal Responsibility Section 3, Section 5.

CBI interrogated

Sources said that the agency interrogated Giribala Singh following the order of the High Court, after which the way for his arrest was cleared. A sessions court had on May 15 granted anticipatory bail to Giribala Singh, who along with her son Samarth Singh is facing charges related to alleged dowry harassment. CBI took over the investigation of Twisha case from Madhya Pradesh Police earlier this week. Samarth Singh, a lawyer by profession, is currently in CBI custody.

Giribala Singh did not follow the bail conditions – Advocate General

Regarding the cancellation of the anticipatory bail granted to Giribala Singh by the lower court of Bhopal, the Advocate General argued in the court that Giribala Singh neither followed the conditions of anticipatory bail nor did he cooperate in any way in the investigation. After this, MP High Court issued an order late night canceling the anticipatory bail of Giribala Singh.

Mention of 7 injuries on Twisha’s body

After the anticipatory bail was canceled by the Madhya Pradesh High Court, Advocate General Prashant Singh said, ‘There is also mention of 7 injuries on the body of Twisha Sharma in the order of the High Court. The court has accepted that all the injuries were ante mortem i.e. before death. There cannot be any injuries while removing the body after death. Seeing these circumstances, the High Court has commented that ‘it seems that some kind of crime has been committed.’
