MS Dhoni Fitness: Is a big crisis looming for Chennai Super Kings? Fast bowler Nathan Ellis has been ruled out of the tournament, while the news of all-rounder Matthew Short missing the opening match has given a double blow to CSK. Meanwhile, MS Dhoni’s fitness has come under question as he has been seen walking with a limp.

It has also been seen in the previous seasons of IPL that MS Dhoni’s fitness related problems are not a new thing. Dhoni was recently practicing at the Chepauk Stadium, but when he was leaving the field, it was not that he was unable to walk completely, but his gait was different from normal. Just because of this, people started expressing concerns about Dhoni’s fitness on social media.

MS Dhoni’s performance in the last few years has also not been very impressive. Especially in the last two years, he has been seen more in the role of team mentor. Most have come to bat at No. 7 or lower. In IPL 2024, he scored only 161 runs in 14 matches, whereas in the next season he could score 196 runs in 14 matches.

Former Indian cricketers Irfan Pathan and Robin Uthappa have said that this might be Dhoni’s last season. The responsibility of captaincy has fallen on the shoulders of Rituraj Gaikwad. The team was looking for a wicketkeeper who could replace Dhoni. With the arrival of Sanju Samson, that problem of Chennai Super Kings also seems to be solved.
