MS Dhoni, who has not played a single match so far in IPL 2026, was present at the Chepauk Stadium on Monday. Although he was not a part of the playing eleven. Meanwhile, former cricketer and Dhoni’s good friend Suresh Raina was also present on the field as a commentator. Raina had talked to MS Dhoni on the field. Suresh Raina on Star Sports revealed that he asked Dhoni about his comeback, to which Dhoni’s answer has become a topic of much discussion.

Suresh Raina told MS Dhoni that he has given just one missed call to IPL 2026 and it will not be counted as a season. Raina said, “You will have to come back next year.” He said, ‘My body is a little weak.’ I said we are not ready to accept anything and you will have to play next year. This will be his personal decision. I think he is positive right now and the team is also preparing well.”

MS Dhoni will celebrate his 45th birthday in a few weeks. In the last few seasons, he has been seen troubled by knee problems. In IPL 2026, he has not been able to play a single match due to calf injury.

After the defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad, head coach Stephen Fleming was asked about Dhoni in the post-match press conference. Fleming said that it is completely up to the management to take any decision regarding Dhoni.
