The 20th match of the T20 World Cup 2026 is being played between Canada and United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. A very interesting moment came in this match, when the batsman was declared run out even after reaching inside the crease. So let us know under which ICC rule the batsman was given out.

In the match, the Canadian team was on the field to bat first. Team’s batsman Navneet Dhaliwal came to bat at number three and returned to the pavilion through a very unlucky runout. He had come completely inside the crease. Despite this he was declared run out. However, his bat was definitely stuck before coming to the crease.

Why were you run out even after coming into the crease?

Actually something like this happened, Harsh Thakar, who was at the other end with Navneet, played the shot and ran to take the run. UAE fielder Mohammad Arfan fielded the ball and threw it directly. During this, Navneet’s bat first got stuck before going inside the crease. After this he reached inside the crease, but was out after being thrown. In fact, even after reaching inside the crease, his foot was not touching the ground, due to which he was declared run out.

According to ICC, to avoid run out, the batsman will have to touch the ground while reaching inside the crease. Simply put, unless any part of the batsman’s body or bat touches the ground inside the crease, you will be run out.

Canada scored 150 runs

In the match, Canada won the toss and decided to bat and put 150/7 runs on the board in 20 overs. Harsh Thakar played the biggest innings of half-century for the team. He scored 50 runs in 41 balls with the help of 2 fours and 3 sixes. Apart from this, Navneet Dhaliwal, who was out unluckily, played an inning of 34 runs. During this period, Junaid Siddiqui took maximum 5 wickets in his bag for UAE. Apart from this, Muhammad Jawad Ullah took 1 wicket in his name.
