Rajasthan Politics: Two MLAs of the Congress party have been convicted on Wednesday (June 18) for the road jam and mob gathering in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, on Wednesday (June 18). The ACJM court of Jaipur has convicted Manish Yadav, MLA from Shahpura seat and Mukesh Bhakar, MLA from Ladnun seat. The court sentenced both the MLAs to one year each.

However, due to the sentence of just one year, there will be no threat to the assembly membership of these two MLAs of the Congress party. According to the People’s Representation Act, the membership of the assembly is canceled only after being sentenced to 2 years or more in most cases. In the 11-year-old case, the court has convicted 9 people, including Abhishek Chaudhary, who was the candidate of the Congress Party from Jhotwara seat in Jaipur, and sentenced everyone to one year.

3200 means punishment
The court has also imposed a penalty of Rs 3200 on all the culprits. All the accused who were filed against the accused have been convicted and sentenced. A case was registered against the accused under sections 147 and 283 of the IPC. All the accused have been convicted in both sections.

The police had filed a challan of all by filing a charge sheet in the court on 11 August 2016 in this case. All these were booked on 13 August 2014 for blocking Jawaharlal Nehru Marg outside the main gate of Rajasthan University and gathering a crowd without permission. This decision has been given by the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate 19 of Jaipur Mahanagar I. According to prosecution officer Kavita Pingolia, they were convicted and the sentence has been announced for sufficient evidence against the accused.
