How educated is Mukesh Chhabra?
Mukesh Chhabra was born on 27 May 1984 in Delhi. He learned the nuances of acting from Shri Ram Center for Performing Arts. After this, he worked for about 6 years in acting and teaching with the Theater in Education (TIE) company associated with the National School of Drama, New Delhi.

Mukesh Chhabra wanted to become a cricketer
Mukesh Chhabra was very fond of cricket since childhood. He wanted to become a cricketer, but fate had something else in store for him. Due to lack of money he had to give up his dream. In an interview given to Dainik Bhaskar, he had said, ‘I was very fond of cricket. I wanted to make my career in this field, but did not have enough money to take admission in a good academy. I had to sacrifice my dream. Then I turned towards theatre. Over a period of time, I became so attached to the theater that till date I have not been able to distance myself from it.

Mukesh Chhabra came to Mumbai with 50 rupees
The story of Mukesh Chhabra from struggle to success is very interesting. According to Dainik Bhaskar, when he came to Mumbai, he had only Rs 50 in his pocket. He stayed at his friend Dhirendra Dwivedi’s house. In his initial days, friends like Dhirendra Dwivedi and Ashutosh Nagpal helped him a lot. When there was no money left for food, people used to feed them here. Today he is counted among the big casting directors of Bollywood.

Worked as a back dancer
Mukesh Chhabra’s entire childhood was spent in poverty. When he was 16 years old, he also worked as a back dancer to support himself. Whenever a singer used to come to perform in big hotels of Delhi, he used to dance with 11-12 boys as a back dancer. He used to get Rs 50 for a show. Due to greed for money, Mukesh Chhabra also worked in NDTV’s show ‘Gustakhi Mafi Hai’ for some time, but due to lack of creativity, he left this job within 6 months. Here his salary was 18 thousand rupees.

After some struggle, Mukesh Chhabra started doing small castings in some films. Directors like Nitesh Tiwari, Imtiaz Ali and Anurag Kashyap supported Mukesh at every step and helped him in getting work. Mukesh Chhabra started his career in 2006 as an assistant casting director with the film ‘Rang De Basanti’. After this, in 2012 he did a small cameo in Anurag Kashyap’s film ‘Gangs of Wasseypur 2’.

In the year 2015, Mukesh Chhabra worked as a casting director for Salman Khan’s film ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’. After this he never looked back. Mukesh Chhabra has worked as a casting director in films like ‘Bombay Velvet’, ‘Dangal’, ‘Laila Majnu’, ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’, ‘Jawaan’, ‘Danki’ and ‘Dhurandhar’. Mukesh Chhabra has also directed the film ‘Dil Bechara’. He was also the casting director of this film.

Mukesh Chhabra is in discussion these days about the film ‘Ramayana’. He is the one who did the casting of this film. Ranbir Kapoor is playing the role of Lord Ram in the film.
