Bollywood actor Govinda has endured hard work and struggles to earn name in the industry. In an old interview, Govinda had talked about his early days, in which he shared an anecdote related to Mumbai’s local train. He told how while traveling like a common man, he closely saw and felt the real life of Mumbai.

Govinda had said in an interview given to Laharen TV- ‘In the beginning of my career, I traveled in local trains like common people. Local train is the heartbeat of Mumbai city. Once I went to Churchgate for the first time and was trying to board a crowded train. At that time I would have been around 18 or 19 years old, at that time I used to be very fit and strong. I was fond of playing football and exercising at that time.

‘As soon as I fell, my mother panicked…’
Govinda had further said- ‘Going to Churchgate was a completely new experience for me. First I went there with my brothers and later took my mother along with me. But, the crowd in the local train was so much that while boarding the train, I lost my balance and fell down. This was normal for me, but very scary for my mother. As soon as I fell, my mother got scared and started shouting loudly for help, my child! My child! Hearing this, the people present at the station got scared and started looking around, they thought that a small child was lost.

Govinda had said smilingly – ‘When people looked back, they found that the person who had fallen was not a small child, but a tall, strong young boy. Even though I was young, I will always be my mother’s little child.

‘Mother treated me like a daughter-in-law instead of a son…’
During this conversation, Govinda also told about his life’s journey. He said- ‘The journey from Virar to Mumbai and then onwards took about 21 years. I lived in Virar for 21 years. Everyone in the village knew that I was very close to my mother. My mother used to make me do household work daily and I was a very obedient child, doing everything without any complaint. The people of the village used to jokingly say that mother treats me like a daughter-in-law instead of a son.

How was Govinda’s early career?
Govinda told- ‘At that age I never thought that I would become an actor one day. I was studying in a small town and I was fond of dancing. When I came to Mumbai, the struggle started here. But luck favored me and within just two to three months I got my first film. This is where my acting career started. When I became a hero for the first time, I felt really happy. Even today, after so many years, when I remember my initial struggle and those days in the local train, I find that period to be the most beautiful turning point of my life.

Big news is coming from Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra. A shocking incident was carried out in a local train running between Panvel and Khandeshwar railway station. Here an 18 year old college girl was pushed down from a moving local train after an argument.

The accused in this incident is Akhtar Nawaz, who had entered the ladies coach of the train. The girl was seriously injured. The incident took place around 8.00 am in the morning, when the girl was traveling in the ladies compartment of a local train going to CSMT.

There was an argument over boarding the women’s coach

As soon as the local train departed, 50-year-old Sheikh Akhtar Nawaz boarded the ladies compartment. When the women asked him to get down, he started arguing. As the argument escalated, the accused angrily pushed a girl from behind. Due to this blow she fell straight on the track.

The girl called her father in injured condition

The girl has suffered serious injuries on her head, waist and hands and legs. After the incident, he called his father and informed him about his injury. He was immediately admitted to the hospital, where at present his condition is said to be stable.

The accused in the incident, Akhtar Nawaz, was trying to escape after getting down at Khandeshwar station, when alert passengers caught him and handed him over to the railway police.

Accused Akhtar Nawaz on three days police remand

Panvel Railway Police has registered a case against the accused and the court has sent him to police custody for three days. According to the information given by Senior Police Inspector Vijay Tayde, the accused Sheikh Akhtar Nawaz lives alone and has no relatives. He keeps roaming. Initial investigation shows that his mental balance is disturbed. It is feared that due to this reason he might have committed this dreadful incident.

The controversy over a minor seat in Mumbai’s local train has now become a big linguistic issue. On Friday (July 18), in a female compartment of the Central Line on the evening, a woman told another woman – “If you want to live in Mumbai, speak Marathi, otherwise get out”.

It was seen in the video that 6 to 7 women were arguing for one seat. In the midst of the debate, a woman commented on not speaking Marathi on another woman, which caught the matter.

Language dispute depth once again

This incident has again given air to the language politics going on in Maharashtra. Recently, there have been many cases of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) activists attacking non-Marathi speakers. This week, a shopkeeper was beaten up with WhatsApp status in Vikhroli, Mumbai. The shopkeeper was forced to publicly apologize.

Apart from this, on 1 July, a street food vendor was slapped in Marathi in Thane for not talking in Marathi. The migrant auto driver was publicly beaten in Palghar, including the Shiv Sena workers of the MNS and Uddhav Thackeray faction.

Mumbai businessman Sushil Kedia’s office was also vandalized because he had talked about not learning Marathi. The video of this incident has also gone viral, in which 5 to 6 people were seen throwing bricks in their office.

A security personnel tried to stop them, but the attackers did not stop even to vacate the bag. The businessman later released apologies. Such cases have once again raised the ongoing tension regarding the language and identity of Maharashtra.
