A red alert has been issued once again in Mumbai regarding heavy rains. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rains in Mumbai and surrounding areas today (28 September). In the suburbs and major parts of the city, heavy rains have also started since morning. At the same time, the morning view on the Bandra-C link road is seen as dark and blurred as evening.

Black clouds are there and due to reduced visibility, vehicles have to burn headlight and parking lights. Due to Sunday, schools and offices are closed, so there is no possibility of a big problem for the common people, but the municipal corporation and police administration are completely cautious.

Warning of sea wave and strong winds

According to the Meteorological Department, today at 2.45 minutes, there will be a wave of about 11 feet high in the sea. At present, strong winds are blowing at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. This situation advises to maintain vigilance in the coastal areas of Mumbai and Thane. The Municipal Corporation Disaster Management Cell has warned of boats and fishermen to be safe in coastal areas.

Flood and loss in other districts of Maharashtra

In Akola district, heavy rains continue and there is a situation of water logging in many places. Yola taluka, Nashik received heavy rains from the night, causing water to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar shopping center and fields. There was rain like cloudburst in Underwadi and about 800 chickens died after falling a poultry farm wall in Balhegaon. This caused huge economic loss to farmers and traders.

Flood and life affected in Sambhajinagar district

It rained all night in Khultaabad taluka of Sambhajinagar district. People came out of their homes due to water entering many villages. Girja and Surja rivers are in spate in Takli Rajerai area. Citizens kept awake overnight due to six feet of water flowing in the canals along the river. Shops and agricultural businesses also suffered heavy losses, causing economic loss of lakhs of rupees. The administration has intensified relief and rescue operations in the affected areas.

Mumbai and surrounding areas are once again surrounded by black clouds. There is a danger of heavy rains. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert in Mumbai and Thane for Friday (July 25) and a red alert in Raigad district, which has warned of excessive rainfall.

Rail services have been affected due to continuous rains and the possibility of waterlogging has increased. The BMC issued a warning asking citizens to stay away from beaches and coastal areas.

Heavy rain and railway services affected

According to the Central Railway, the local trains of the main line are running 10-12 minutes and the trains of the Harbor line are running late by 7-8 minutes. According to ANI, trains are running slow due to low visibility and vigilance. At the same time, in the low -lying areas of Mumbai, Thane and Palghar, moderate rain has been warned in the next few hours, which can lead to waterlogging. In the last 24 hours, Mankhurd recorded 28 mm, Nariman Point 26 mm, CSMT and Mulund 21 mm rainfall.

Weather forecast and high tide alert

According to the Meteorological Department report, the maximum temperature in the city and suburbs is likely to be 30 degrees and the minimum is 23 degrees Celsius. On Friday (July 25), it will usually be cloudy and some areas may receive very heavy rains, especially late at night or morning.

The BMC has given a strict warning to the citizens of staying away from the beaches at the time of high tide, especially in the afternoon when the waves of the sea are likely to reach above 4.6 meters.

Excessive rain warning in Western Ghats

Between 25 and 27 July, the Western Ghats of Mumbai-Pune may receive very heavy to very heavy rainfall.
