Ghulam Nabi Azad alias Sohail, son of newly formed Janata Unnayan Party (JUP) president Humayun Kabir, had allegedly attacked the policeman in Murshidabad district of West Bengal. Trinamool Congress said Azad committed a cognizable offense by raising his hand on the policeman posted as personal security officer (PSO) of Bharatpur MLA Kabir. A senior police officer said that constable Jumma Khan had lodged a complaint against Sohail at Shaktipur police station, on the basis of which he was detained. He said that Khan had alleged that the MLA’s son attacked him on Sunday morning when he had applied for leave for a few days.
