Owners of hotels, guesthouse and homestay in Mussoorie will now have to register their guests on the portal of Uttarakhand Tourism Department. This shows that passengers will have to book for their stay before going to roam. This step has been taken to prevent more crowd gathering in the hilly region. The government has taken this step to deal with congestion and traffic management after the number of tourists has increased a lot in the last few years. Let us know about it in detail.

All hotels, guest houses and homestay will register their guests (staying passengers) at the time of check in. All institutions will have to register their facility on the portal by providing information like first owner’s name, phone number, type of housing type (hotel, homestay or other), property names, number of rooms and total capacity. After this, they have to register the passengers (guests).

Let us tell you that in 2022, Mussoorie had 11 lakh tourist reach, while in 2024 last year, this number had increased to more than 21 lakhs, in view of which the government has taken this step to reduce pressure at the hill station and get relief from traffic jam. Registration rules will help the authorities to manage the mall road area from the most pressure such as the most busy points such as the most busy Gandhi Chowk. Apart from this, it will help in providing real time data for better civic planning.

How to register your journey to Mussoorie:

First of all, you have to go to the official website of the tourism department registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in/mussoorie.
Information has to be recorded through Aadhaar card.
Information about the date and stay of the journey has to be shared.
Registration will be completed after the OTP arrives on the mobile number.

India Longest Passenger Ropeway is Going to Be Built Between Dehradun and Mussoorie

India longest passenger ropeway: The summer season is going on. During this time, the number of tourists will increase at the hill stations. The journey takes 1 to 1.5 hours, but now you will reach Mussoorie from Dehradun in less than half an hour.

Dehradun to Mussoorie will reach in 20 minutes

Actually, the country’s longest ropeway is being constructed between Dehradun and Mussoorie. Once it is built, the distance between two well-known holiday destinations of Uttarakhand will be reduced to just 20 minutes. This 5.2 km long ropeway being built between the two cities is likely to be prepared by 2026. This ropeway, which is about 1,000 meters height, will be the longest ropeway of its kind in South Asia and one of the longest ropeway in the world.

This company is responsible for the project

According to Moneycontrol report, this ropeway based on mono-cubble detecble Gondola system is being made by Mussoorie Sky Car Private Limited Company, which is the Consortium of Fil Industries Private Limited, France’s Poma SAS and SRM Engineering LLP. The purpose of creating this ropeway is to promote tourism in the Himalayan region and make traffic smooth in cities.

Apart from this, the company has also received the Yamunotri ropeway project, which will be 3.8 km long from Kharsali to Yamunotri. This will make it easier to the devotees who reach here in the number of thousands. Along with this, ropeway is also being constructed for Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib.

The 12.9 km long ropeway to be built in Kedarnath at a cost of Rs 4,081 crore can be reached from Sonprayag to Kedarnath in just 60 minutes. Right now the journey takes 6-7 hours.

Similarly, it has been approved to build a 12.4 km long ropeway for Hemkund Sahib. It will cost Rs 2,730 crore to make it. This will reduce 45 minutes to go from Govindghat to Hemkund Sahib.
