Producer Sahil Seth, his production company CINEDUST 18 Films PVT. Ltd. A powerful film under the banner of ‘Malegaon Files’ is announced. Director Rajiv S. Ruia, known for films like ‘My Friend Ganesha’, will direct this film. The film is based on the 2008 Malegaon bomb blast.

‘Malegaon Files’ is currently in the film pre-production stage and for this the cast and crew will be locked soon. According to the makers, the aim of the film is to present the 2008 Malegaon bomb blasts with sensitivity and reality. This was the accident that not only shook the country, but also started a long and complex legal struggle. In which the failures of the investigating agencies also raised questions on the impartity of Torture and Justice Management in alleged custody.

Director Rajiv S. Ruia said- ‘This is not just the story of a blast, this is the story of the storm that came after that. It has a human struggle, political pressure, discovery of truth and emotional and legal battle between the victims and the families of the accused. Malegaon files are our effort to bring that bitter truth on screen.

What is Malegaon bomb blast?
The 2008 Malegaon blast took place on 29 September, in which 6 people lost their lives and more than 100 people were injured. Initially, it was accused of Islamic Organization, but the later investigation revealed the names of elements associated with Hindu extramism, in which controversial personalities like Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur and Lieutenant Colonel Prasad Purohit were arrested. This was the first case of India which was linked to ‘Hindutva terrorism’. In this case recently, the court acquitted all the seven accused.

Makers gave clarity about the film
Producer Sahil Seth said- ‘We are presenting this subject with full responsibility. Our aim is not to spread sensation, but to force people to think, not only about the explosion, but also about what happened after that. The makers have also made it clear that the script of the film is being prepared on the basis of separate investigation reports, court documents and real witnesses, so that the story remains reality and imperfection in the story. There will be a drama in the film, but the team has promised that the truth will not be compromised.

Shooting and cast of the film
