With this, due to continuous exposure, this number reached 60 to 70 percent. Also, such changes were seen in DNA which can increase the risk of skin cancer.

What to do then?

Experts say that one should avoid applying nail paint daily. Nails should be given rest for one to two weeks in a month. If you have to apply nail paint daily, then you can apply transparent nail paint for this. A systematic review published on PubMed concluded that there is a risk of skin cancer from UV lamps used in gel manicures, but this cannot be fully proven yet. Nevertheless, scientists believe that continuous and prolonged use may increase the risk. During pregnancy, special care should be taken to maintain maximum distance from it. Because if it accidentally goes into the mouth, it can cause problems. Apart from this, small children should be kept away from nail paint. Also, those who have very sensitive skin, those who have a history of cancer in their family and those who often use gel polish and UV lamps should be careful.
