The first candidate list of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for Bihar Assembly elections has been released. In this list of 71 candidates, the ticket of sitting MLA Nand Kishore Yadav has been cut. Now Ratnesh Kushwaha has been fielded from Patna Sahib seat in place of Nand Kishore Yadav. Meanwhile, MLA Nand Kishore Yadav’s reaction has come on the ticket being cut.

Nand Kishore Yadav said, “I am with the decision of the Bharatiya Janata Party. The Bharatiya Janata Party has given me a lot. I have no complaints with the party. Welcome, congratulations to the new generation.”

Not only this, Nand Kishore Yadav further said, “The people of Patna Sahib Assembly have made me victorious 7 times in a row. I will never forget the affection and love they gave me as a BJP candidate.”

38 candidates for first phase and 33 candidates for second phase announced

The candidate list of Bihar BJP was being awaited since the seat distribution in NDA. Meanwhile, on the afternoon of Tuesday (14 October), BJP’s first candidate list was released, which contains names of 71 candidates. In this list, former Deputy Chief Minister Renu Devi has been made the candidate from Bettiah. Whereas, former Deputy CM Tarakeshwar has become the candidate from Katihar. Apart from this, Deputy CM Vijay Sinha has been made the candidate from Lakhisarai.

In this list of BJP, candidates have been announced for 38 seats in the first phase and 33 seats in the second phase. Out of 71, 9 women have been given tickets.

Their ticket was also canceled

Apart from Nand Kishore Yadav, the ticket of Minister Motilal Prasad has also been canceled from Riga Assembly seat. Baidyanath Prasad has been made the candidate in his place. Ramsurat Rai’s ticket from Aurai was canceled and Rama Nishad was given a chance in his place. Apart from this, the ticket of senior MLA Amarendra Pratap Singh has also been canceled.

The new generation is welcomed and congratulated.

Relationship with the generation of old BJP leaders
Nand Kishore Yadav is among the oldest generation leaders of BJP in Bihar. When he was the state president of BJP, leaders like Sushil Kumar Modi, Ashwini Choubey, Naveen Kishore Sinha and Prem Kumar were his contemporaries. At that time, all the leaders were climbing the ladder of politics under the guidance of Kailashpati Mishra.

34 years of unbeatable political journey
Nand Kishore Yadav has been elected MLA continuously since 1995. First from Patna East and after delimitation from Patna City (Patna Sahib). He has won seven consecutive times. He started politics as a councilor of Patna Municipal Corporation and later became the Deputy Mayor of Patna. He has also been the President of BJP Yuva Morcha.

BJP’s voice in the era of Lalu-Rabri
Nand Kishore Yadav led the Bihar BJP for five years, at a time of decisive battle for the BJP during the rule of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi. In 2013, when Nitish Kumar broke the alliance with BJP for the first time, Nand Kishore Yadav was made the Leader of Opposition in the Assembly. Before this, this post was held by Sushil Kumar Modi for a long time.

Took responsibility of many ministries
Nand Kishore Yadav was a minister many times in the Nitish government. He served the longest tenure in the Road Construction Department and also held the responsibility of the Ministry of Health, Family Welfare and Tourism. The top leadership of BJP made him the convener of Bihar NDA in 2003.

RSS affiliation
Nand Kishore Yadav was born on 26 August 1953. He completed his matriculation in 1970 and left his graduation studies during the JP movement. He has been associated with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) since 1969. Within the party, he is known to be a prominent Yadav leader and for his good coordination with Nitish Kumar.
