Taking a big step to reform the country’s examination system, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the appointment of Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani as the head of a high-level task force. This task force will give suggestions to make the examination system more transparent, secure and technology based. Who is Nandan Nilekani?

Nandan Mohanrao Nilekani was born on 2 June 1955 in Bengaluru. His family is originally from Sirsi, Karnataka. He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay. After this, he co-founded Infosys, a company that gave a new identity to the Indian IT industry and played an important role in the development of the company for a long time.

Nilekani is also credited with successfully implementing the country’s largest digital identity project, Aadhaar. He has been the Chairman of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
