Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered immediate investigation into reports of sale of adulterated eggs in the markets. National Conference MLA Tanveer Sadiq had said that the eggs consumed in the entire area contain residues of cancer causing drugs. In a formal communication issued by the Personal Section of the Minister of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), the department has directed the concerned authorities to immediately investigate/verify the matter and submit a report within two days, amid growing public health concerns.

The order came after the MLA’s warning

This directive comes after Sadiq warned that the drugs containing residues of nitrofuran and nitroimidazole are banned in food animals due to their cancer-causing and toxic properties. Must have been found in eggs available in local markets. Tanveer had said in a post that this matter is a serious threat to public health, because eggs are consumed extensively by children, elderly and patients. Remains the main protein source recommended by doctors.

Claim was made in the report

The controversy began when Trusted published a lab test report claiming that a batch of Eggos eggs contained residues of substances banned in poultry farming because they are genotoxic, meaning they can damage DNA and possibly cause cancer. The video claims that lab tests have found traces of nitrofuran and nitroimidazole in the eggs sold by AGOZ and these antibiotics are banned for use in poultry in many countries because their metabolites such as AOZ are considered genotoxic.

MLA requested the Health Minister

The MLA urged both the Health Minister and the FCS&CA Minister to immediately test the leftovers in all markets, identify the supply chain from where such eggs have come to the Valley, and initiate strict legal action against rule violators. Acting on the alert, the FCS&CA Minister tasked the Legal Metrology Department to verify the claims and submit its results as soon as possible.

The investigation is expected to include market inspection, sample collection, lab testing and tracing the distribution network. Officials said that if the presence of banned items is confirmed then strict action will be taken.

In Jammu and Kashmir, National Conference (NC) MP Agha Ruhullah has opened a front against Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Chaudhary. Taking aim at him, he has accused him of changing political parties for his personal gain. He said that Chaudhary himself has changed parties several times and he needs to preach on loyalty. MP Ruhullah was responding to Deputy CM Surender Chaudhary’s statement in which the Deputy Chief Minister had said that the NC MP (Ruhullah) should raise his voice in Parliament, not on the streets and should stop trying to come in the limelight.

Agha Ruhullah attacked Deputy CM

The MP has attacked Chaudhary by raising questions on his political consistency. He said, “Wherever there is benefit, he chooses a party for the chair. Sometimes he was with PDP, then with BJP and now with NC.”

Ruhullah told the media in Ganderbal, “I do not see any use in answering a person who is changing parties for his own benefit.” He had gone to meet the farmers on a day when the National Conference was holding its CWC meeting in Srinagar.

What did the MP say about the differences in his party?

Ruhullah admitted that he has “differences” with his own party on some principles, but insisted that his politics are not for personal gain, even though he was not invited to a working committee meeting for the first time since joining the National Conference in 2002.

He further said, “I have disagreements with the party on some principles. But this Deputy Chief Minister is always only interested in his own benefits.” MP Aga Ruhullah was on Ganderbal tour. Here he met the farmers. Reaching among the farmers, he listened to their problems.

‘Not with every Kashmir terrorist’- Omar Abdullah

Meanwhile, on the connection between terrorism and Jammu and Kashmir, CM Omar Abdullah said, “One thing we have to keep in mind is that not every person in Jammu and Kashmir is a terrorist. Not every person in Jammu and Kashmir is with the terrorists. These are a few people who have always tried to spoil the peace and brotherhood here.”

He further said, “Unfortunately, when we start looking at every Jammu and Kashmir person and every Kashmiri Muslim in the same light and start giving the picture that every Kashmiri Muslim is a terrorist, then it becomes very difficult to keep people on the right track.”

Not only this, CM Omar Abdullah further said, “I feel that those who are guilty of this accident should be given strict punishment, but the innocent people should be kept out of this.”

CM Omar Abdullah said, “Before this, you saw the university professors. One associate professor was from Kashmir University. Where is it written that educated people do not get involved in these things. I am surprised by the fact that when he was fired from the job, what investigation was done? If you fired him from the job, what action was taken? If you think that he is involved in terrorist activities, then why did you not go to the court with that evidence? From the job. Once the ‘Darbar Move’ tradition started in Jammu and Kashmir, government offices have reopened in Jammu. On this, National Conference President and former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah said on Monday that those who wanted to divide Jammu and Kashmir have failed.

Farooq Abdullah told reporters on the occasion of reopening of offices here that the Union Territory is united and it should collectively move towards development. He said that those who wanted to separate Jammu and Kashmir have failed today. Abdullah also said that all parts of the Union Territory are one.

Targeted at BJP

Taking aim at the BJP, he said that those politicizing the issue should ‘quit politics’ and instead focus on the welfare of the people and the development of the Union Territory. Abdullah said that Jammu will also progress and expressed hope that it will get maximum benefits with the coming of the Secretariat.

‘We have to take Jammu and Kashmir towards development’

He said, “This (erstwhile) state has to rise again. It has recovered from many devastations including wars and we have to together rebuild it and take it towards development.” Abdullah congratulated the Chamber of Commerce and the people for welcoming this step. He said that I express my gratitude to every person of Jammu who supported this step.

‘This shows unity among the people of Jammu and Kashmir’

Describing the tradition of ‘Darbar Move’ started by Maharaja Hari Singh as a big step, Farooq Abdullah said that this step shows unity among the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The former chief minister said, “This means that the people of Jammu and Kashmir consider themselves as one, no matter what their language or religion, they belong to one land.”

A day after losing one seat to the BJP in the Rajya Sabha elections, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday (October 25) said the National Conference (NC) had tried its best to win all four Rajya Sabha seats from Jammu and Kashmir, but the final result of 3-1 shows both success and disappointment at the end of the polling.

Speaking to the media, Omar Abdullah said that there should be no doubt on the result of 3-1 because we had tried everything possible to win by 4-0, but unfortunately some people cheated us in the last stage of voting.

CM Abdullah said, “Now it is very clear who supported us and who did not, although I do not find it right to take anyone’s name here. It is really sad, but I am thankful to all those who stood with us till the end. As far as those who withdrew their support at the last moment, it is disappointing.”

‘Not a single vote was cross-voted’

However, CM Omar said with full confidence that not a single vote of the National Conference was cross-voted or spoiled and it would not be right to name those MLAs who voted against the alliance and in favor of BJP. He said that I am satisfied that not even a single vote of NC went astray.

NC won 3 out of 4 seats

This came after allegations that some of the seven MLAs either voted for the BJP or ‘deliberately’ spoiled their votes during the Rajya Sabha elections in which the National Conference won three out of four seats, while the BJP managed to win only one seat despite the support of its 28 members.

BJP’s Satpal Sharma won the fourth Rajya Sabha seat by securing 32 votes, while Congress, PDP, CPIM, Awami Ittehad Party, Aam Aadmi Party and six independent members pledged support to the 41 NC members.

NC candidate stuck on 21 votes

During counting, election officials declared 3 votes invalid, while 4 members cross-voted for BJP for the fourth seat, leaving NC’s Imran Nabi Dar stuck at 21 votes. The winning margin for the two seats in the third notification was fixed at 28.2, which means the winner needed 29 votes to cross the line. And the National Conference was promised the support of 59 votes, but this defeat has not yet answered many questions.

Today i.e. before the Rajya Sabha elections to be held on 24th October, the stir in the politics of Jammu and Kashmir has intensified. Congress has announced support to the candidates of National Conference (NC). With this decision, NC has got an initial lead and at the same time the equation is creating new difficulties for BJP.

Awami Ittehad Party also announced support

The path seems to be getting easier for the National Conference in the Rajya Sabha elections. After Congress, now Awami Ittehad Party has also announced its support to NC. Awami Ittehad Party MLA Sheikh Khurshid said that “this vote is a compulsion to keep BJP away”. After his statement, BJP’s chances of winning the fourth seat seem to be almost over.

Big change in attitude of Sajjad Loan

Jammu and Kashmir Deputy CM Surendra Chaudhary has claimed that Sajjad Lone will also vote for the NC candidate. He said that the decision Sajjad had taken earlier to abstain from voting has now been changed. This change further strengthens the atmosphere in favor of the National Conference, because earlier it was believed that Lone’s neutrality could give indirect benefit to BJP.

National Conference has clear lead in statistics

As per the current equation, the ruling National Conference alliance now has the support of a total of 59 MLAs. On the other hand, BJP has only 28 MLAs. National Conference already had the support of 6 Congress, 3 PDP, 1 CPM and 6 independent MLAs. Now with the support of Sheikh Khurshid and Sajjad Lone of Awami Ittehad Party, this number has become decisive. Due to this, the victory of National Conference on Rajya Sabha seats is considered almost certain.

There was a dispute between the National Conference and Congress regarding the Rajya Sabha elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Actually, Congress has refused to contest the Rajya Sabha elections. The party says that we had demanded a reserved seat from NC, which we did not get. Now State President Tariq Hameed Karra said that our trust has been broken.

State Congress Committee president Tariq Hameed Karra on Monday (October 13) said the National Conference (NC)’s “backdown” from its commitment to the Congress leadership regarding the Rajya Sabha elections shows that it is reconsidering its ties with the Indian block. Speaking to reporters in Srinagar on Monday, Karra said that the NC leadership had assured Congress of allotting a reserved seat.

He said, “We were told that we would be allotted a safe seat, first or second. When the NC was adamant on giving us the fourth seat, which was considered unsafe, we called a core committee meeting. It was unanimously decided that we should not contest an election in which there is a possibility of our defeat. The committee also expressed displeasure over the backtracking on the promises made at the level of Sonia ji and Kharge ji.”

‘Wrote a letter to Omar Abdullah’

He further said that the NC leadership told that there will be no compromise on anything beyond the fourth seat. Karra further said, “When Mir Sahab and I sent a joint letter to Omar Sahab, he instructed us to talk to Farooq Sahab. Farooq Sahab’s answer was clear in itself. He told us that he was ready to discuss only the fourth seat.”

‘Our trust has been broken’

When asked whether the NC had betrayed the Congress, Tariq Karra replied, “I wouldn’t use the word betrayal. But our trust has been broken.” He further said that the NC’s actions indicate that it is reconsidering its relations with the India block.

Hameed Karra also said, “It is not that the agreement with NC in Jammu and Kashmir remains incomplete. But this also indicates that NC is considering whether it should remain in the India block.”

‘Will not give statement on BJP’s irresponsible remarks’

On the statement of opposition leader Sunil Sharma calling Congress a puppet of National Conference, he said that I will not react to the irresponsible statements of BJP.

Rajya Sabha elections are going to be held on four seats in Jammu and Kashmir, for which India Alliance’s allies National Conference and Congress have geared up. After a marathon meeting of four and a half hours, Jammu and Kashmir Congress on Sunday (October 12) announced that it will not contest from the Rajya Sabha seat offered by the National Conference as the seat is ‘risky’.

State Congress Committee President Tariq Hamid Karra has informed that he has decided not to contest the elections on the fourth seat given to him.

NC did not give the seat that Congress had asked for.

Hamid Karra said, “There has been an intense discussion regarding the Rajya Sabha elections. The members were of unanimous opinion that our central leadership had demanded a safe seat, either seat number 1 or 2. However, the National Conference has offered us seat number 4, which is less safe than the other seats.

Congress wrote a letter to Farooq-Omar Abdullah

Considering the circumstances, it has been unanimously decided that we will not field any candidate on seat number 4 and will leave this decision to our alliance partners. He further said that the party has informed the National Conference leadership about its position.

Hamid Karra said, “We have officially written a letter to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah about our decision. On his request, we have also sent the letter to Farooq Abdullah. However, no response has been received from his side yet.”

Congress angry with National Conference?

The State Congress President said that the Congress members have expressed their displeasure and displeasure over the government, development issues and the lack of coordination committee among the alliance partners.

Top Congress leaders have confirmed that former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh can ask for a seat for the party in the Rajya Sabha election. He said, “He will formally raise the issue with the National Conference.” He further said that Singh can talk to NC President Dr. Farooq Abdullah or Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on this issue.

Digvijay Singh entrusted responsibility

In April this year, the Congress high command entrusted Digvijay Singh to monitor the functioning of the Congress-NC alliance partnership in Jammu and Kashmir and involvement in the discussions related to it. Sources said that Singh has also been instructed to work closely with Jammu and Kashmir in-charge and State Congress Committee (PCC) President Tariq Hamid Karra on these matters. In the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections, the NC-Congress alliance can easily win three of the four seats, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is in a strong position to win the remaining seats. In the present House, the ruling alliance has 53 members, while BJP has 28 members. The non-BJP opposition faction consists of seven MLAs-three of PDP, PC and one each and two independents.

The National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah has received a big statement on violence erupted in Leh, Ladakh. Farooq Abdullah supported the Ladakh violence through a press conference. He said, “The people of Ladakh are fighting for their statehood. Earlier they had raised their point peacefully but when no promises were made to him, they left Gandhi’s path and chose the path of movement.”

NC chief Farooq Abdullah said about the Ladakh violence, “Some people are saying that violence is happening here due to foreign forces. I want to tell that there is nothing like that. It is the voice of the people here. Those who are doing wrong with our state, they will have to learn from Ladakh.”

Supporting the agitators of Leh, Farooq Abdullah said, “Now the youth here have decided to know but our state should not go. The National Conference has always chosen the path of peace and Gandhi, but what our children will do cannot be said. It cannot be said. He further said, “What is happening in Ladakh, we are with all those children. What is happening in Ladakh is happening due to the leaders sitting in Delhi. They should wake up. Otherwise it will be too late.”

When Farooq Abdullah was asked whether China has captured India’s land? In response, the NC chief said, “If not occupied, then why do the BJP people say that we have to take back? We are not able to do petroling there.”
