He has two sons, out of which Babil Khan is now making his mark in the film industry. In the year 2018, Irfan was diagnosed with a serious disease called Neuroendocrine Tumor. He went to London for treatment. Later he returned to India and completed his last film Angrezi Medium. In April 2020, his health suddenly deteriorated and he died in the hospital. His demise broke the hearts of not only the film industry but also millions of fans.
