Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary is celebrated every year on 12 January. This day is also celebrated as National Youth Day across the country. The life of Vivekananda ji is an inspiration for every youth, who increased India’s prestige in the world through his thoughts and deeds.

In 1984, the Government of India declared 12 January as National Youth Day. In the same year the United Nations also celebrated ‘International Youth Year’. On this day, youth are inspired to move forward and do something for the society by taking inspiration from the life of Swami Vivekananda.

Swami Vivekananda’s life is an example of sacrifice, knowledge and self-confidence. He attained enlightenment from his Guru Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and then spread the message of the right path of life to the people.
