The first phase of the voter list special revision campaign (SIR) in Uttar Pradesh was completed on 26 December. Whose figures have become public. State Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa had an exclusive conversation with ABP News. In which he resolved the total reduction in the number of voters in the state and many types of doubts. He has informed that out of total 15.44 crore voters, names of 2.89 crore voters will be removed from the draft list. Which is 18.7% of the total voters.

Navdeep Rinwa said that most of the voters who have moved away have migrated. Their number is highest at 1.26 crore. After this, there are 46 lakh deceased voters, 23.70 lakh duplicate entries, 83-84 lakh voters who are absent at their address. And 9.37 lakh voters have not submitted the counting form. Along with this, there are about 1.11 crore voters to whom notices should be issued. They will have to submit documents.

CM Clarification on the statements of Yogi and Akhilesh Yadav

Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa also gave clarification on political allegations. On CM Yogi’s question about cutting off 4 crore voters, he said that he was referring to adding the adult population which is around 16.50 crore. Whereas in SIR this number has come to 12.50 crores. Along with this, Navdeep Rinwa refuted the statements of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. He said that the figure of 2.89 crores had arrived around December 11 itself. Whose information was given to the agents of all political parties.

No one’s citizenship will be taken away

Navdeep Rinwa clarified that if your name does not appear in the voter list, it does not mean that you are not a citizen of the country, nor will you be expelled from the country. No citizen will be forced to become a voter. No documents are required for the draft list. Not only this, he further said that 90% of the voters will not have to submit any documents in future also. He appealed that there are 3 crore eligible people whose voter ID cards have not been made. They should get it done quickly.
