Amid tensions with Venezuela, US President Donald Trump on Monday (December 22) announced the new Trump Class fleet for the Navy and described it as the best warship. Announcing the new series of ships from the resort in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, Trump said that these warships will help maintain American military supremacy and create fear among America’s enemies around the world.

Surrounded by pictures of Trump class warships, the US President said that he will play an active role in their design. These Trump class warships will be part of the new ‘Golden Fleet’ for the Navy.

Trump told the specialty of warship
Donald Trump said that the US Navy will work with me to lead the design of these ships, because I am a big fan of art. These new warships will be equipped with high-tech cannons, missiles, hypersonic weapons, electric rail guns, cruise missiles and will be the largest warships ever.

Warships will be built in America only
Trump said that each warship will weigh between 30,000 to 40,000 tons and will be built in America. Without giving any explanation he said that these will be completely AI controlled. Initially the Navy will build two ships of the Trump class, after which 8 more ships will be built soon.

Objection was raised on the design of American ships
Trump had earlier objected to the design of some American ships. Earlier this year, while addressing a gathering of military officers in Quantico, Trump had said that I do not like the design of some of your ships. According to the information, China’s Lan Hai-101 research vessel has entered the Bay of Bengal through Malacca Strait on Friday. This ship is preparing to go to Galle port of Sri Lanka. The special thing is that whenever India conducts any major missile test, Chinese spy-ships reach Sri Lanka or Maldives. India has raised this issue from time to time with neighboring countries.

Apart from Lan Hi-101, Lan Hi-201 is also present in the Indian Ocean in the name of Aquaculture Research and Survey. A third Chinese survey vessel, Xi Yan-6, is also preparing to go to Port Louis, Mauritius. A fourth Chinese ship named Sheen Hai Yo Hao is also heading from Diego Garcia to Malacca State.

Vice Admiral Sanjay Vatsayan, Vice Chief of the Indian Navy, has said that the three services of India are keeping a close eye on the growing relations between Bangladesh and Pakistan. He said that we are keeping an eye on all the situations and incidents and are taking necessary steps.

This statement has come at a time when the interim government formed in Bangladesh after the ouster of Sheikh Hasina from power has taken steps towards strengthening its relations with Pakistan. Vice Admiral Vatsayan said that there are always 40 to 50 foreign ships present in the Indian Ocean, whose activities are constantly monitored by the Indian Navy. He said, “We know where which ships are, when they arrive and when they leave. The Indian Ocean is the main route for oil and cargo transportation around the world, and there are many challenges associated with it such as piracy, human trafficking and drug trafficking.”

He said that this year the Navy has inducted 10 ships and one submarine and four more ships will be inducted by December. 19 more ships are likely to be added next year.

Pramod said that the objective of the ongoing tri-service exercise in Gujarat coast and North Arabian Sea is to increase coordination between land, sea and air forces. Coast Guard, BSF and other central agencies are also included in this. 20-25 naval ships and more than 40 Air Force fighter and support aircraft are participating in this exercise.

IFR will be organized in 2026

The Indian Navy will conduct the International Fleet Review (IFR) at Visakhapatnam in February 2026, in which President Draupadi Murmu will review the naval fleet on 18 February.

Indian Navy’s growing requirements
The Indian Navy currently has 12 P-8i aircraft. In view of China’s growing military influence in the Indian Ocean Region, the Navy needs 6 more aircraft to strengthen its surveillance and anti-Sabarine capacity. Apart from this, the Navy is also using MQ-9B drone, which will provide a total of 31 drones by 2029.

Technical characteristics and strategic importance
According to India Today report, P-8i aircraft are capable of long distance monitoring and detection of submarines. It can fly from a height of 41,000 feet and can cover a distance of up to 8,300 kilometers. It can also carry anti-ship missiles, cruise missiles, light torpedo and anti-sabmerine warfare charge. The MQ-9B drone will be helpful in the real-time surveillance of the Indian Ocean Region.

Indo-US relations are not affected
Recently, the high tariff imposed by the US on India for buying oil from Russia has not affected this defense agreement. In February, a joint statement released during Prime Minister Modi’s visit to America was clear that the deal is in the final stages.

India has made a big jump and cleared the way for the development of its first indigenous fifth generation stealth fighter jet. With this step, India will be included in the very special list of countries like America, China and Russia, which have fifth generation fighter aircraft. By May 2025, this list is limited to only three countries-America (F-22, F-35), China (J-20) and Russia (SU-57). Now India is on the way to become the fourth country.

Defense Minister gave green signal
On Tuesday (August 12, 2025), Defense Minister Rajnath Singh approved the ‘Excoction Model’ of the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) project. It will develop it for the Air Force and Navy in association with the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) global industry colleagues in Bengaluru. The initial expenditure on this project will be more than Rs 15,000 crore and the aircraft is expected to be delivered by 2035.

How will India’s first fifth generation fighter jet be
AMCA will be a single-seat, twin-engine fighter aircraft, which will be advanced stealth coatings and internal weapon bay, such as American and Russian aircraft (F-22, F-35 and SU-57). The aircraft will be able to fly to a height of 55,000 feet and carry 1,500 kg of weapons in the interior bay. The exterior will also have a capacity to carry 5,500 kg and 6,500 kg of additional fuel. According to reports, there will be two versions of this aircraft. The first American GE F414 will run with the engine, while the second version will have India’s own developed engine, which can be more powerful than this.

Supermanuvarble and Multirol Jet
AMCA is being designed in both supermanuvarble and multirol categories. Supermanuverable means that it will be able to change the sharp and complex direction by going beyond traditional techniques (such as Ailerons, Rudders etc.). Stealth means it will be very difficult to track it with radar and other detection systems. At the same time, Multirol means that this aircraft will be able to complete many missions like air domination, ground strike and destroying enemy air defense.

The specialty of the fifth generation fighter aircraft
There is no fixed definition of fifth generation fighter aircraft, but their basis is high-tech technology of the 21st century. They contain advanced battalfield software, which gives the pilot to the enemy’s activities and the real-time information of the battlefield. These aircraft also contain low-proclamation-off-intercept radar and networking systems, so that it can show better C3 (control, command and communication) capacity by staying connected with ‘friendly’ units.

India’s AMCA and the rest of the world aircraft
Currently, the US has F-22 and F-35, Russia has SU-57 and China has J-20. Of these, F-22 ‘Raptor’ was once called the deadliest fighter. Although the Obama administration thought of shutting down in 2008, it was again activated after seeing the military preparations of Russia and China. America’s F-35 is the most modern and most expensive fighter aircraft to date, which is estimated to be more than $ 1.7 trillion. It has also been offered to India. Similarly, Russia’s SU-57 is also proposed to India.

Sixth generation race of China
Reports say that China is working fast on the sixth generation fighter aircraft. In April 2025, NDTV reported that China is conducting two possible prototype tests-J-36 (three-engine tailless design) and J -50 (twin engine jet with V-shape wings). It is in response to American Boeing’s F-47 (next generation Air Superiority Fighter).

India’s military modernization campaign
The AMCA project is part of India’s strategy in which the army is being equipped with modern weapons and technology. Recently, India has bought 26 Rafale-M fighter aircraft by deal with a deal of Rs 63,000 crore, which will meet by 2031 and replace the old Navy’s old MIG-29K. The Air Force already has 36 rafale-C. Apart from this, in the last decade, India has created indigenous aircraft career, warships and submarines and has also successfully tested hypersonic missiles. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has promised to invest $ 100 billion in domestic defense production by 2033 to promote “Make in India” and also increase defense exports.

Pakistan bought a Z-9EC attack helicopter from China to compete with India’s Navy. These Harbin helicopters were posted on the frigates of the Zulfikar series of the Pakistani Navy. Not only this, Pakistan also added advanced systems like Pulse Compression radar, low frequency sonar, Doppler navigation system and radar alert receiver in these helicopters to create strategic balance with India. However, these Chinese helicopters destroyed all the expectations of Pakistan.

These Chinese helicopters have now become a headache for the field marshal Asim Munir of Pakistan. Now these helicopters are also not able to fly. The most serious problem of Z-9C is its tail rotor blade, which has revealed technical flaws. This part controls the direction of the helicopter and it can cause the entire aircraft to be united. In a stressful environment like war, this problem directly puts the life of the crew in danger.

How much Pakistan will trust Chinese goods?

According to the report of Defesa Online, the age of the main rotor blade is considered to be around 3000 hours, but many blades in the sea environment have eaten junk long ago, causing them to replace their deadline before the end. This questions the reliability of the rotor system. Anyway, how long can any Chinese goods be trusted?

China promised to maintain helicopters

In 2006, when Pakistan bought these helicopters from China, it was promised to fulfill the responsibility of maintaining the helicopters from China, but the ground situation is different. Despite the special maintenance center built at the Mehran naval base, there are serious problems in repairing helicopters and supplies of parts. Apart from this, there are other reasons, due to which it is becoming difficult for Pakistan to keep these helicopters, such as-

• Technical complications in repair processes.
• Limited availability of trained Chinese engineers

India has great attack helicopters

Pakistan saw the Z-9EC as a strategic card, but defense analysts believe that the failure of these helicopters has not had any significant impact on India’s strategic status. India already has better anti-submarine abilities, such as P-8i Poseidon aircraft and HAL DHRUV based ASW system.
