Announcing new plans for the Border Security Force (BSF), Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that operations against cross-border terrorism and infiltration will be further intensified. Referring to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, it was said that civilians were targeted on the basis of religion, after which ‘Operation Sindoor’ was launched to respond to Pakistan. According to the Home Minister, Pakistan Army came into action after the attack, but BSF soldiers responded with full preparation on the front.

In the 61st Foundation Day celebrations of BSF, the first line of security of the country, Amit Shah said that during the operation, the security forces took action against the networks of Jaish-e-Mohammed and Hizbul and completely destroyed their structures at 9 places. Deadline set to end Naxalism by 2026
Giving a clear date, the Home Minister said that it is our resolve to completely free the country from the Naxal problem by 31 March 2026. According to Amit Shah, BSF has dealt a major blow to drug and arms smuggling through the borders. A separate campaign was launched to catch the gangs operating on the border and many major successes were achieved.

BSF engaged in mission to stop infiltration at every border
He said that today BSF is working with full capacity to stop infiltration on all the borders. According to Shah, some political parties are trying to weaken the campaign to drive out infiltrators, while the Election Commission is helping in making this process systematic and safe through SIR.

In Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh, 71 Maoists have surrendered to the security forces, out of which 30 were declared a reward of Rs 64 lakh on Naxalites. Regarding the surrender of the Maoists, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said that the government with ‘double engine’ is committed to eliminating Naxalism by 31 March 2026 and is committed to providing respectable rehabilitation and better life to the Maoists who surrendered.

71 Naxalites have surrendered after being impressed by the ‘Lone Varratu’ (come back home) in Bastar division and the ‘Loan Vratu’ (come back home) in Dantewada district.

A total of 71 Maoists are also included in 21 women. The 17 -year -old boy, 16 and 17 -year -old minor girls are also among the surrender. Recently, Naxalites also targeted Shikshadoots (temporary guest teachers in government schools). On August 29, a Shikshadut was kidnapped and killed by Naxalites in Bijapur.

Earlier on 27 August, a Shikshadut was also killed in Sukma district. It is clear from these incidents that Naxalites want to maintain their grip not only by intimidating the security forces but also the weaker sections and villagers of the society.

The people of the village have been scared due to the continuous killings. People of the area around Sirceti village are also living in the shadow of fear. It is a big challenge for the government and police administration how to make the trust of the villagers and make them feel security.

Due to the increase in the number of Naxalite incidents in recent months, questions are also being raised on the government’s anti -Naxal strategy. Despite the frequent campaign of security forces, Naxalites are active in many areas and are killing innocent people.

At present, the police is investigating the matter. But the continuous incidents are telling that the threat of Naxalites in Bastar is still not completely over. In the coming days, there will be a big challenge in front of the government and security forces, how they should tighten the Naxalites and ensure the safety of the common people.
