Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) patron and Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has once again expressed his displeasure over seat sharing in the ruling coalition party NDA in Bihar. In Gaya, he clearly said that his party should get its due rights in NDA, especially in Rajya Sabha.

Jitan Ram Manjhi said, “Even now we do not say that seats will not be given. We were seeing in the news that it was being said that JDU was being given 2 Rajya Sabha seats, BJP 2 and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) one seat. In such a situation, where is Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular)? That is why we should demand.”

‘Promised to give Rajya Sabha seat in 2024’

Referring to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Manjhi said, “At that time we were told that two Lok Sabha seats would be given. Later it was said that one Rajya Sabha seat would be given. At that time we were given one Lok Sabha seat and we also won that election.”

He further said, “We thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making us a minister, but today one Rajya Sabha seat is outstanding.” Manjhi further said, “Based on the results of the 2024 elections and the Lok Sabha, Hindustani Awam Morcha should get a seat in the Rajya Sabha elections to be held in April. This is my demand.”

Jeet Ram Manjhi says that he is saying this to his party officials because we are not officials in the party. Our national president can make demands, our spokesperson can make demands, our principal secretary can make demands. We are the patrons of the party, that is why we are saying this to the party people.

Response to speculations of separation

On discussions about separation from the NDA, Manjhi said, “As far as separation is concerned, as long as the organization is with us, perhaps no one will talk about separation. People are misrepresenting it. We said that today we are not a recognized party because we do not have 8 seats. If we had got at least 10 seats and we had won 8, we would have become a recognized party.”

Aim to become a recognized party

Jitan Ram Manjhi said, “We should contest elections on 50, 60 or 100 seats. If we contest elections, we will get 6 percent votes and we will become a recognized party. We are saying this only so that our party can get recognition.”

Bihar Election 2025 Live: In view of Bihar elections, a consensus has been reached regarding seat sharing in the opposition grand alliance. Congress has announced its candidates for many assembly seats after long negotiations. The names of the candidates can be announced after resolving the issues on some stuck seats.

Parties will continue to distribute symbols to their candidates on those seats on which consensus has been reached. There is also a possibility of friendly fight on some seats in the Grand Alliance. He will definitely be on Bachhwara seat, because both Congress and CPI have given candidates here.

There is also a possibility that RJD may give two seats from its quota to JMM. Also, Mukesh Sahni’s two seats can be increased. If this happens then RJD can contest on 133 seats and VIP on 17 seats.

Amit Shah is coming to Bihar

Talking about the ruling coalition party NDA, JDU working president Sanjay Jha said that Home Minister Amit Shah is coming to Bihar today. CM Nitish Kumar will also campaign from today. The entire NDA is united. Leaders and workers of all five parties will fight together. The people of Bihar have made up their mind to make NDA win.

Apart from this, on Shahabuddin’s son Osama getting the ticket from RJD, Sanjay Jha said that this has been the character of RJD. Similarly, he has been running Jungle Raj in his government earlier. Such people have contributed in defaming Bihari people. They have defamed Biharis.

Shravan Kumar is contesting elections for the seventh time

JDU candidate from Nalanda Assembly, Shravan Kumar is trying his luck for the seventh time. Today he will file his nomination. Along with this, JDU will also inaugurate the party office.

Legislative Council seat also given to Upendra Kushwaha

Amidst the displeasure of Upendra Kushwaha, BJP has decided that it will also give a seat in the Legislative Council to the RLM chief from its quota.

Bihar Elections 2025 Live: In view of the Bihar Assembly elections, the political temperature in the state is very high. Discussion on seat sharing is going on continuously in NDA and Grand Alliance. A formal announcement of seats in the grand alliance can be made today. It is believed that Congress can field its candidates on 60 seats. At the same time, RJD has also distributed symbols to many candidates.

Meanwhile, Upendra Kushwaha is still angry in NDA. His talks with BJP leaders continued late in the night, but still everything is not well in NDA. At the same time, it has also come to light that NDA’s seat sharing formula may change and BJP’s seats may also increase.

On the other hand, JDU and BJP have fielded their candidates on many of the 29 seats given to Chirag Paswan. Meanwhile, Chirag Paswan has also started distributing symbols to his candidates.

BJP’s only woman Chief Minister will campaign

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will campaign in the Bihar Assembly elections and will be present while filing the nomination papers of Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha. Rekha Gupta is the only woman Chief Minister in 14 BJP ruled states. After reaching Lakhisarai, she will be with Vijay Sinha while filing his nomination and will address a public meeting at KRK Maidan.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mera Booth Sabse Strong’ campaign

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Wednesday interact with booth level party workers of Bihar under the ‘Mera Booth Sabse Strong’ campaign and listen to their suggestions before the upcoming assembly elections. The ‘Mera Booth Sabse Strong’ initiative is a long-term, interactive outreach campaign aimed at strengthening the party’s relationship with party workers and supporters at the local or booth level.

Earlier on Sunday, Prime Minister Modi had written in a post on ‘X’, our dedicated workers have gathered with full energy for the victory of BJP-NDA in Bihar. Talking to such dedicated workers always gives new inspiration.

There is a possibility that seat sharing in the Grand Alliance may be announced on Tuesday (October 14, 2025). It is believed that talks with the parties involved in the grand alliance have almost been completed. However, Mukesh Sahni is incurring huge losses. That’s because they are not getting even half of the 60 seats they were talking about. If sources are to be believed, there is no consideration of giving more than 15 seats to Vikassheel Insaan Party.

First understand the formula of seats in the Grand Alliance

If sources are to be believed, talks have been held with Tejashwi Yadav on 60 Congress seats. That means there is no problem between Congress and RJD now. Now RJD is in talks especially with VIP’s Mukesh Sahni. Left parties can get 30 seats. It has been considered to give 15 seats for VIP, two seats for JMM and one seat for IIP. RJD itself will contest on 135 seats.

On the other hand, the question is that if Mukesh Sahni is not given more than 15 seats, will he be ready or will he suddenly go with NDA again like in the 2020 assembly elections? Discussion on such questions has started in the political circles. However, seats have been divided in the NDA alliance. BJP and JDU will fight on 101-101 seats. Whereas Chirag’s party has been given 29 seats. Jitan Ram Manjhi’s party HAM and Upendra Kushwaha have got six seats. The question is that if Mukesh Sahni joins NDA, which party will sacrifice seats? Let us tell you here that seat sharing has been announced in NDA but the joint press conference which was to be held in Patna on Monday has not taken place. For some reason the PC got postponed. This means that the tussle over seats continues in NDA also.

What do political experts say about Sahni?

Political expert Dhirendra Kumar said that Mukesh Sahni suddenly planned to go to Delhi. A lot was revealed from his language before leaving. Now it depends on Mukesh Sahni whether he remains in the grand alliance or not. There will be no offer from the Grand Alliance on these terms. Is the way open in NDA? On this he said that it is difficult to say. I think the path to NDA is now closed for Mukesh Sahni, but politics is a game of possibilities. Maybe some option will open up. If the option opens, it will be difficult to get six seats. Be it Grand Alliance or NDA, Mukesh Sahni is no longer in a position to make demands.

What did Mukesh Sahni’s party say?

On the other hand, a big leader of VIP party said that the seats are being reduced because of Akhilesh Singh (Congress leader). They are filling Lalu Yadav’s ears. Pressure is being put on RJD that if more seats are given to VIPs then after winning they can go with BJP and form the government. On the question whether there is a possibility of joining NDA? On this it was said that no, we have to remain in the Grand Alliance only.

Bihar Elections: After several days of discussion and brainstorming in Bihar, NDA has announced the seat sharing formula on Sunday (October 12, 2025), while the opposition grand alliance is still stuck on this issue.

Nitish Kumar’s party JDU and BJP will contest elections on 101-101 seats, while 40 seats have been left for Chirag Paswan, Jitan Ram Manjhi and Upendra Kushwaha. This is the first time that JDU-BJP in NDA will contest elections on equal number of seats. The announcement of seat sharing in NDA has been made at a time when less than a week is left for the last date of nomination for the first phase.

For the first time, JDU-BJP are fighting on equal number of seats.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has agreed to contest elections on equal number of seats with BJP. BJP was once considered a junior ally of JDU. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it has been continuously strengthening its presence in the state.

How many seats will Chirag-Manjhi’s party get?

Union Minister Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) has got 29 seats. Chirag was accused of harming JDU in the 2020 elections, when he rebelled against the alliance and fought separately. Manjhi’s party HAM and Upendra Kushwaha’s party RLM have been given 6-6 seats. However, Manjhi did not seem completely satisfied with the seat distribution. Earlier he was demanding ‘at least 15 seats’ so that his party could get the status of ‘recognized party’ in the assembly.

What did Manjhi say after seat sharing?

On reaching Patna, he told reporters, ‘We have accepted the decision taken by the higher leadership, but our strength has been underestimated by giving us only six seats. NDA may have to bear the loss due to this in the elections. However, Manjhi also reiterated that he will remain with Prime Minister Narendra Modi till his last breath.

However, the issue of seat sharing in the Grand Alliance (India Alliance) still seems to be stuck. Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) President Lalu Prasad Yadav, his wife Rabri Devi and Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav left for Delhi, giving rise to speculations of discontent within the alliance.

October 17 is the date of nomination for the first phase.

The last date for filing nominations for the first phase is October 17 and the uneasiness among the candidates is clearly visible. When Lalu family was leaving for Delhi, workers expressed their displeasure outside his residence. Voting will be held in two phases in Bihar on November 6 and 11, while the counting of votes will be done on November 14.

What did RJD say on the delay in seat sharing?

According to sources close to RJD, the party has made it clear that it will contest ‘at least half’ of the 243 seats. Sources blamed Congress, Left parties and Mukesh Sahni’s Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) for the delay. Media reports say that Congress is demanding more seats on the basis of the success of its recent ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’. In this journey, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi visited 25 districts of the state in two weeks.

Lalu family going to Delhi to appear in court: Akhilesh Prasad

There were speculations that the Lalu family would go to Delhi and appeal to Rahul Gandhi to intervene, but former Bihar Congress President Akhilesh Prasad Singh put an end to this. He said, ‘Lalu ji and his family have gone to Delhi because they have to appear in the court.’

Rajya Sabha member Singh was sitting in the same flight with Tejashwi Yadav. He said, ‘There is not much problem in seat distribution. Everything will become clear in a day or two. Lalu Prasad and his family members are accused in the land-for-jobs scam, which is related to his tenure as Railway Minister.

BJP has pushed Nitish to the margins: Congress

Taking aim at the NDA in Patna, Congress spokesperson Rajesh Rathore said, ‘It is clear from the seat distribution that BJP has marginalized Nitish Kumar. This is the first time that JDU is not fighting on more seats than BJP. In the coming time, BJP will swallow JDU.

What is the demand of Congress?

According to sources, RJD had offered 50 seats to Congress, which Congress has not accepted. It is being told that Congress’s demand is for at least 60 seats, with which RJD is not comfortable. Now Lalu family can have direct talks with the Congress high command on seat sharing.

Jansuraj released the list of 51 candidates

Taking a lead over the old alliances, Jan Suraj Party had released the first list of 51 candidates a few days ago and is going to release another list on Monday. This party was formed a year ago. All eyes are on Raghopur seat in Vaishali district, where Tejashwi Yadav is trying to register his third consecutive victory. Jan Suraj Party founder and former election strategist Prashant Kishore has indicated that he himself may contest from this seat.

In the year 2020, JD(U), led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, contested on 115 seats and BJP on 110 seats, while Paswan’s party contested alone. In the 2020 assembly elections in Bihar, JDU had gained 43 seats after losing 28 seats as compared to 2015.
Who said what on NDA seat sharing?

NDA’s allies have reacted to the seat sharing. Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) President Chirag Paswan posted on social media platform ‘X’ and said that we, the NDA family, have completed the distribution of seats for Bihar Assembly elections 2025 in a cordial atmosphere. BJP and JDU got 101-101 seats, while LJP got 29, RLM and HAM got 6-6 seats. He further said that Bihar is ready, again NDA government, this time with full strength, Bihar first, Bihari first.

Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) President Upendra Kushwaha wrote on ‘X’, we NDA friends met together and completed the distribution of seats in a cordial atmosphere. Workers and leaders of all NDA parties joyfully welcome this unanimous decision. Bihar is ready, NDA government again. JDU National Executive President Sanjay Kumar Jha posted on social media platform ‘X’ and said that we NDA friends have completed the distribution of seats in a cordial atmosphere. Leaders and workers of all NDA parties welcome the seat sharing formula with joy and are determined and united to make Nitish Kumar the Chief Minister again with an overwhelming majority.

NDA Bihar Seat Sharing 2025: After the announcement of Bihar Assembly elections 2025, the long discussions regarding seat sharing in NDA (National Democratic Alliance) finally ended today. On Sunday, all the constituent parties of NDA together decided the final formula of seat sharing.

Union Minister and Bihar election in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan gave official information about this formula by posting on social media platform ‘X’. Dharmendra Pradhan told that both BJP and JDU have got 101 101 seats in NDA. With this, JDU and BJP will once again enter the field in Bihar politics with an equal partnership.

Know how the seat distribution happened

According to sources, NDA has adopted a new formula for its allies – six assembly seats instead of one MP seat. Seats have been distributed on this basis. Chirag Paswan of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) has got 29 seats on the basis of five MPs. At the same time, Upendra Kushwaha’s RLJP has been given six seats on the basis of one MP and Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hum Party has also got six seats on the basis of one MP.

CM Nitish showed ‘big heart’

JDU has shown great courage in the 2025 assembly elections. In the 2020 elections, JDU contested 115 seats and won 43 seats. This time the party has decided to contest elections on 101 seats, reducing it by 14 seats. JDU has taken this step with the aim of leaving space for its allies and maintaining the unity of the alliance.

BJP in the role of ‘twin brother’

This time, giving priority to the spirit of alliance, BJP has decided to play the role of twin brother. In the 2020 elections, BJP contested on 110 seats and won 78 seats. In the assembly elections 2025, the party will contest on 101 seats i.e. 09 seats have been left for its allies. Political analysts believe that BJP has taken this decision to strengthen the stability of the alliance and electoral coordination.

‘Nitish Kumar is the one in the driving seat’

JDU leader KC Tyagi said that now the relationship between JDU and BJP has become like ‘twin brothers’ and not ‘elder brother-younger brother’. He said that the party is completely satisfied and no one has any complaints today.

Tyagi clearly said that only Nitish Kumar will be the face of the Chief Minister in Bihar, no matter how many seats anyone gets in the NDA. He reminded that many times in the past also the number of BJP MLAs has been more than that of JDU, but the Chief Minister has always been Nitish Kumar.

He said, ‘Whether seats are more or less, only Nitish Kumar is on the driving seat.’ Along with this, he said about NDA allies, ‘Paswan, Manjhi and Kushwaha ji belong to our family. Our DNA is the same because all of them once emerged from the Janata Dal.

The seat sharing formula for Bihar assembly elections has been decided between BJP and JDU. After several days of talks, both the parties have finally sealed the agreement. According to sources, a total of 203 seats have been agreed between BJP and JDU, while 40 seats can be left for allies. This agreement is believed to strengthen the electoral equation for the NDA alliance.

JDU likely to get 102 seats and BJP 101 seats

According to sources, under this agreement, JDU will field its candidates on 102 seats and BJP on 101 seats. At the same time, about 40 seats will be left for other allies of NDA. This formula is slightly different from the 2020 assembly elections, but this time both the parties have divided the seats keeping the coordination balanced. It is clear from this that NDA has tried to give a message of unity against the opposition alliance.

JDU is considered to have traditional influence on these seats.

Possible seats of BJP quota

The seats discussed in BJP’s account include Pranpur, Baruraj, Tarari, Begusarai, Lakhisarai, Patepur, Jale, Darbhanga, Saharsa, Sahebganj, Katihar, Warisaliganj, Jamui, Bettiah, Madhuban, Jhanjharpur, Darundha, Goriyakothi, Amnaur, Hajipur, Biharsharif, Digha, Bankipur, Riga, Bisfi, Chhatapur, Banmankhi, Kumhrar, Patna Sahib, Danapur, Maner and Bikram are included. BJP is considered to have a strong hold on these seats. Let us tell you that Bihar Assembly elections will be held in two phases on 6th and 11th November, while the counting of votes will take place on 14th November.
