A total of 53,960 seats in PG, of which 30,029 are from government and 23,931 private colleges. This year, some UG seats were reduced due to the CBI investigation, but NMC says that the number of seats may increase to 8,000 or more after the completion of the inspection.

Why CBI investigation was done

In July, the CBI had registered a case of corruption and rules violation on the Ministry of Health NMC officials and some private medical colleges, due to which the process of starting new courses and increasing seats was stopped, although NMC has now accelerated the speed of inspection, according to NMC Chairman Dr. Abhijeet Shet, according to NMC Chairman Dr. Abhijeet Shet, about 8,000 new seats will be added soon.
