National Testing Agency NTA has issued a big update for the candidates regarding NEET UG 2026 exam. Keeping in mind the convenience of the students, some important changes have been made in the NEET UG examination to be held on June 21, 2026. NTA has increased the total duration of the exam to 195 minutes, so that candidates will get better time to solve the paper. Along with this, more space will also be provided in the question paper for rough work. According to NTA, these changes have been made based on the feedback received from students and with the aim of simplifying the examination process.

Changes regarding timing of NEET UG 2026 exam
NTA has informed that the duration of NEET UG 2026 exam has now been reduced to 195 minutes. The exam will be conducted from 2 pm to 5:15 pm. This will also include the time for signing the attendance sheet and necessary procedures related to the examination.

Students will get better use of exam time
NTA says that this change has been made on the basis of feedback received from the candidates. Its objective is that students get enough time to solve the paper and their exam time is not affected due to administrative process.

More space for rough work in question paper
Changes have also been made in the question paper of NEET UG 2026 for rough work. Now more space than before will be provided to the candidates for rough work, calculations and making diagrams.

New arrangement of rough work page
Earlier, rough work pages were given only at the end of the question paper. Now pages for rough work will be available at the beginning of the question paper also. This will help students to work as per their convenience.

NTA gave instructions to students
NTA has advised the candidates to read all the instructions given in the admit card and information bulletin carefully and follow the rules at the examination centre. According to the agency, these changes have been made to make the examination process more convenient and candidate friendly.
