NEET UG re-exam 2026 : The government does not want any mistake this time regarding NEET-UG 2026 re-test. After the paper leak controversy, questions were raised on the country’s biggest medical entrance examination. In such a situation, very strict security arrangements are being made for the re-exam to be held on June 21. The government has decided to implement a two-layer security system for the security of question papers and OMR answer sheets, so that the examination process can be completed in a completely clean and safe manner.

To increase the security of paper and answer sheets in NEET-UG re-test, NTA has demanded a two-layer security cover from the Central Government. Under this, the responsibility of security will be given to the soldiers of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). These jawans will be deployed at every stage from transportation of question papers and OMR answer sheets to their safe handling. Additional security arrangements will be made especially at airports, helipads, hub centers and important places.

Papers will be sent across the country from Hyderabad and Ahmedabad

According to officials, the examination material will be transported from the main centers located in Hyderabad and Ahmedabad to about 551 hub cities of the country. For this, hub and spoke model will be used, in which question papers and OMR sheets will be safely transported to different examination centers through both air and road routes.

How long will the security arrangements last?

According to the information, security arrangements will be in place during the movement of question papers from June 11 to June 19. After the completion of the examination, security forces will be deployed from the evening of June 21 to bring back the OMR sheets and other material.

Nodal officers will be appointed for coordination

To conduct the entire process in a better manner, instructions have been given to CRPF and CISF headquarters to appoint nodal officers. These officers will establish coordination with the Postal Department, NTA and state level units. The Union Education Minister has said that this time the NEET-UG re-test will be conducted without any irregularities and the results will also be declared on time. He said that the security and arrangements of the examination are being monitored at the highest level of the government.

Now Parliament has also become fully active regarding NEET UG 2026 re-exam. Before the re-examination to be held on June 21, the Parliament’s Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare has called senior officials of the Health Ministry, Education Ministry, NTA and NMC for a meeting. In this meeting, exam preparations, security arrangements and the entire process will be reviewed.

there will be a meeting tomorrow

This meeting of the Parliamentary Committee will be held on June 10. It will be attended by the Secretaries of the Health Ministry and the Education Ministry along with senior officials of NTA and NMC. The committee wants to understand what steps have been taken to conduct the re-exam in a fair and transparent manner and what preparations have been made keeping in mind the interests of the students.

Strictness increased after paper leak controversy

Actually, the NEET UG 2026 exam held on May 3 was canceled after complaints of paper leak and other irregularities. After this, lakhs of students had to face the situation of re-exam. This whole matter sparked discussion across the country and questions were also raised on the credibility of the examination system. This is why every aspect related to the examination is now being closely monitored.

Officials have already replied

This is not the first time that officials of NTA and related ministries are appearing before a parliamentary committee. Even before this, they have given information on examination related issues before various parliamentary committees. However, this time the meeting is being considered more important in view of the re-exam to be held on June 21.

Increased concern of students and parents

After the cancellation of exams, anxiety has increased among students and their parents. Many students say that they have to prepare again, due to which mental pressure has also increased. In such a situation, everyone’s eyes are now on ensuring that the re-exam is conducted in a completely safe and fair manner.

Special focus will be on exam security

There will also be discussion in the meeting regarding examination security and confidentiality of question papers. This time the government and NTA are making additional security arrangements to avoid any kind of disturbance. Surveillance has been increased at every level, from examination centers to distribution of question papers.

Re-exam will be held on June 21

NTA has already made it clear that NEET UG 2026 re-exam will be conducted on June 21 in pen and paper mode. Lakhs of candidates are waiting for this examination. Now it remains to be seen how much the examination process is strengthened after the review and suggestions of the parliamentary committee.

The re-exam of NEET UG 2026 will be conducted on June 21. The examination will be held across the country in a single shift from 2 pm to 5:15 pm. Lakhs of medical candidates are likely to appear in this examination. All preparations for the examination have reached the final stage.

Information about exam city can be available soon

Decision of re-exam taken after paper leak controversy

This year NEET UG exam was in the news due to allegations of paper leak. After the allegations and investigation that came to light from various states, questions were raised regarding the fairness of the examination. In this background, it was decided to conduct the examination again, so that all the candidates can get equal opportunity.

The matter also reached the Supreme Court

The matter had reached the Supreme Court demanding to conduct the examination in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. However, the court did not immediately accept this demand. During the hearing, it was also acknowledged that re-conducting such a large-scale examination is a big challenge from the administrative point of view.

The format of the exam may change in future

Indications have been given by the Central Government and the Ministry of Education that steps can be taken towards conducting the NEET UG examination in computer-based mode in the coming academic sessions. This is expected to help in making the examination process more secure and transparent.

Deadline for submitting bank details extended

Keeping in mind the convenience of the candidates, NTA has also extended the last date for submitting bank account information. This will provide relief to those candidates who were not able to submit the required information till now. Candidates can update their information within the prescribed time limit.

Attempt Limit In NEET UG: After the ongoing controversy regarding NEET UG 2026 and cancellation of the examination, the National Testing Agency has now started preparing for major changes. In the coming time, age limit and attempt limit may be implemented in the medical entrance examination. This means that students can now get a chance to take NEET UG exam till the prescribed age and only a limited number of times.

The central government told the parliamentary committee on Thursday that former ISRO chief Dr. Major reforms will be made in the examination system based on the recommendations of the expert committee headed by Radhakrishnan. In its presentation before the Parliamentary Standing Committee headed by Congress MP Digvijay Singh, the NDA has put forward a roadmap of several long-term reforms.

Attempt limit may be implemented for the first time in NEET

At present, only the minimum age limit for students in NEET UG exam has been fixed at 17 years, there is no maximum age limit and students can appear for the exam any number of times. However, NTA is preparing to make changes in this system. The agency told the parliamentary committee that the number of attempts by candidates may be fixed in future. Along with this, implementation of maximum age limit is also being considered. It has not been clarified yet how many attempts the girl students will get and what will be the maximum age.

Focus on computer based and multi session examination

NTA told the committee that in the coming time, NEET UG examination can be conducted completely in computer based test i.e. CBT mode. Apart from this, work is also being done on multi-session and multi-stage examination system. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has already announced that preparations can be made to conduct NEET UG in CBT mode next year. At present, NTA has the capacity to conduct computer-based examination of about 1.5 lakh students in one shift, which has been targeted to be increased to 10 lakh next year.

Reforms increased after paper leak controversy

This time a big controversy has arisen regarding NEET UG exam 2026. More than 22 lakh students had appeared in the examination held on May 3. Later allegations were made that about 120 questions of the viral guess paper were matching the real exam. According to NTA, the agency received information about the alleged irregularities on May 7, after which the matter was referred to the central agencies on May 8 and the examination was canceled on May 12. Now the re-examination will be held on June 21, however, in the parliamentary committee meeting, NTA directly refused to consider it as a paper leak. The agency said that irregularities and malpractices came to light in the examination process, but it would not be correct to call it a complete paper leak. In the meeting, BJP MPs also objected to the use of the word paper leak. At the same time, opposition MPs raised the question that if the paper was not leaked then why did the examination have to be cancelled.

NEET UG Paper Leak: Once again a big controversy has come to light regarding NEET exam among lakhs of students who dream of studying medicine. After the NEET UG 2026 exam, apprehensions like paper leak have increased the concern of students and parents. In a case reported in Rajasthan, it is being claimed that a “sample paper” was sold for lakhs of rupees before the exam, in which 140 questions were similar to the questions asked in the NEET UG 2026 exam. As soon as this matter came to light, Rajasthan’s Special Operation Group (SOG) and other agencies started investigating.

Real exam like questions found in guess paper

According to reports, the National Testing Agency (NTA) had received information from Rajasthan and Uttarakhand that a “guess paper” or “sample paper” was distributed among some students before the exam. Investigation revealed that out of 300 questions in that paper, about 140 questions were similar to the real NEET UG 2026 exam to a great extent. After this, NTA took the matter seriously and informed it to the central investigating agencies and Rajasthan Police.

Sample paper reached Sikar from Kerala

This entire matter is now being investigated by Rajasthan ATS and SOG. According to reports, SOG investigation has revealed that the sample paper was brought from Kerala to Sikar, Rajasthan. This has increased the suspicion that perhaps a network linked to some other state is behind the leaking or spreading of the exam paper. In such a situation, now the officials are trying to find out which people were involved in bringing and distributing the paper. Investigating agencies have also started raids at many places. Initial information has also revealed that some people had taken huge amounts of money from the students and their families and claimed to give them “Pakka Paper”. However, it is not yet completely clear whether the original paper was leaked or it was a guess paper prepared on the basis of an old pattern. These revelations have further intensified the scrutiny process, especially at a time when lakhs of medical aspirants depend on NEET UG for admission to medical courses.

NTA gave clarification

NTA has said in its clarification that the NEET UG 2026 exam was conducted amid complete security arrangements. The agency says multiple levels of security checks were put in place during the exam including biometric verification of candidates, AI-enabled CCTV surveillance at exam centres, safe handling and transportation of question papers, and continuous monitoring. In such a situation, a complete investigation should be awaited before reaching any conclusion. NTA also said that it had handed over the information related to this case to the investigating agencies on May 8 itself. At present the agency does not want to take any hasty decision until the investigation is completed.

Questions raised again on transparency of NEET exam

This controversy has once again raised questions on the transparency of the country’s biggest medical entrance examination. In the last few years also, allegations of paper leaks and irregularities have been coming to light regarding the NEET exam, due to which the confidence of the students has started weakening. In such a situation, the eyes of lakhs of candidates are fixed on the reports of the investigating agencies. If the allegations are found true in the investigation, then this matter can become a big issue related to the future of lakhs of students.
