NEET Rank vs Course 2026: NTA has declared the result of NEET UG 2026, in which around 20 lakh candidates had appeared this year. According to the results of NTA, 11.21 lakh candidates have achieved success in the examination. Now after the release of the result, the biggest question is that at which rank there is a possibility of getting admission in MBBS, BDS, BAMS or other medical courses.

Let us tell you that NTA has not released separate cut off for any course. The agency declares only the qualifying cut off, whereas admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BSMS BVSc and other courses is decided on the basis of All India Rank, category, availability of seats and closing rank of the college during counselling. In such a situation, let us now tell you at which rank you will get MBBS, BDS and BAMS.

Cut off for MBBS, BDS and BAMS

Many students think that NTA releases different cutoffs for every medical course, but it is not so. To qualify in NEET, candidates become eligible to participate in counseling for various medical and AYUSH courses. After this, seat allotment depends on the candidate’s rank, category, state quota, All India quota and closing rank of the concerned college. On the basis of NEET score, admission is available in the institutes participating in MBBS, BDS BAMS, BHMS BUMS, BSMS BVSc and BSc Nursing courses.

At which rank can one get admission in which course?

Colleges and courses keep changing depending on the rank of the student. As per the counseling trends of previous years, candidates with All India Rank 1 to 100 have the highest chances of getting an MBBS seat in the top medical institutes of the country like AIIMS and other prestigious government medical colleges. Students who rank between All India Rank 100 and 5000 have good chances of getting MBBS seats in central institutes and major government medical colleges.

Many times good options are available even under state quota. Candidates with ranks between 5000 and 20,000 can also get MBBS colleges in many states, although the final seat allotment depends on the category, state and counseling round. Apart from this, many candidates at rank after 20,000 can get the option of admission in government BDS BAMS, BHMS BUMS, BSMS BVSC & AH or private medical colleges. The chances also vary according to the availability of seats and counseling rounds.

How much competition is there for which course?

According to the trend of last years, maximum competition is seen in MBBS. After this come BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BVSc & AH and other AYUSH courses. At the same time, the situation varies according to private colleges and states.

On what basis is admission given in the course?

After qualifying NEET, score alone is not enough. Many other aspects are also taken into consideration during admission. Such as All India Rank, Category of the candidate, All India Quota and State Quota, number of seats available, closing rank of the college, round of counseling and admission is done on the basis of college and course options filled by the candidate.
