Amazing astronomical views will be seen in the universe for two days. Three planets Venus, Saturn and Neptune will appear in a straight line and will come very close. This amazing sight can be seen in the sky even with ordinary eyes. These planets will form a conjunction in the western part of the sky on March 7 and 8. This amazing sight can be seen all over the world including India.

Astronomer Amar Pal Singh said that on the evening of 7 and 8 March 2026, there will be a rare conjunction of Venus, Saturn and Neptune. On March 7, Venus and Neptune and on March 8, Venus and Saturn will be seen very close to each other (between 0.07 to 1 degree). Immediately after sunset, you can see the conjunction of these planets near the horizon in the west direction. This phenomenon will be visible in India also. You can see this celestial conjunction towards the western horizon just after sunset (about 6 o’clock).

Venus will appear very bright
Astronomer Amar Pal Singh told that the planet Venus is very bright (will be visible even without a telescope), but the thing to keep in mind is that even after sunset, the glow of the sun persists for some time, that is why sometimes it can be a little difficult to see the planet Venus from many places. Now talking about Saturn, Saturn will also be present near Venus (a little blurry, binoculars may be required) and a good telescope will be required to see Neptune, the outermost planet of our solar system.

The astronomer said that on the first day, on March 7, there will be a conjunction of Venus and Neptune. They will be at a distance of only 0°04′ from each other, which is very close. Along with this, there will be a meeting of Venus and Saturn on the evening of 8th March. The distance between them will be about 1 degree (equal to the width of a finger in the sky).

Visibility and time in India
Astronomer Amar Pal Singh said that this phenomenon can be seen in India also. For this, special attention will have to be paid to the time because this astronomical phenomenon can be seen on the western horizon immediately after sunset. Let us say that this astronomical phenomenon will be visible only about 30 to 40 minutes after sunset because after that these planets will be very low and will soon set below the horizon. According to the latitude of India, there will be a very short window for their observation.

You will be able to see Venus as a shining white ‘star’ with naked eyes without binoculars and telescope. The magnitude of Venus will be approximately minus 3.8 and Saturn will appear a little blurry and its magnitude will be 1.0 which will be visible above or next to Venus. It can be seen with naked eyes but the view will be better with binoculars.

Neptune is not visible to the naked eye
Talking about the visibility of Neptune, it is not visible at all with the naked eye but Neptune can be found with a telescope. Due to its proximity to the horizon, atmospheric distortion/turbulence can make it challenging. Also, it is worth keeping in mind that these will be at a height of only 10°-15° from the horizon. Venus coming near them is a normal event because the planet Venus forms many conjunctions every year at a fast pace. This event will take place in the Pisces constellation. Therefore the planets Venus, Saturn and Neptune will be visible in a smaller area.

Eclipse On Planets: Today, people in different countries around the world will be able to see the Ring of Fire due to the solar eclipse. People often think that the eclipse can be seen only from Earth. but it’s not like that. According to space science, eclipses also occur on many other planets in our solar system. Let us know how different they are from the eclipses seen on Earth.

Why does eclipse occur on any planet?

A solar eclipse occurs when a moon passes between the sun and its planet. This casts a shadow on the surface of the planet. The size of the moon, its distance from the planet and the planet’s position relative to the Sun decide whether the eclipse will be complete or partial. On Earth, the Moon completely covers the Sun during a total solar eclipse. This is because size is a very rare function of distance. Things look quite different on other planets.

eclipse on mars

Mars has two small moons. These are called Phobos and Deimos. But both are small enough to cover the sun completely. This is the reason why total solar eclipse does not occur on Mars. Instead, a partial eclipse will be visible on Mars. In this a small black figure briefly crosses the sun’s disk.

eclipse of jupiter

The big planet Jupiter has dozens of moons. These include four big moons. Their names are Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto. These large moons regularly cast large shadows above Jupiter’s clouds. That total solar eclipse is quite common and spacecraft photographs have captured dark round shadows moving in the colorful atmospheres of the planets.

Eclipse of Saturn, Uranus and Neptune

All these planets have many moons, due to which eclipse is quite possible. However, eclipses on Neptune occur for a very short period of time. This is because it is very far from the sun. Because of this, the size of the Sun appears much smaller and due to its geometry, eclipses occur for a shorter period of time.

eclipse on pluto

Let us tell you that eclipses also occur on Pluto. Its large moon Charon is tidally locked and is larger in proportion than Pluto. Their unique alignment allows the moon to eclipse Pluto completely.

Eclipse on Mercury and Venus

Mercury and Venus have no natural moons. Without a moon to block sunlight, solar eclipses do not usually occur on these planets.

On January 23, 2026 i.e. today a very rare tripartite combination of Moon, Saturn and Neptune will be visible in the western sky. After sunset, the crescent moon will be close to bright Saturn, and also close to faint Neptune, giving astronomers around the world a very clear trinity.

During this time the Moon will slowly turn below Saturn and Neptune, due to which a natural smiling face can be clearly seen above the Earth. This triple conjunction occurs when all three celestial bodies appear close together.

A triple conjunction occurs when celestial bodies appear very close to each other in the sky from Earth’s perspective. Even if they are far away in space. Tonight the Moon, Saturn and Neptune will form a compact group after sunset.

With Saturn shining steadily, the Moon will also be brighter and Neptune will be fainter, requiring a smaller telescope to see.

When does ternary conjunction appear?

The triple conjunction of the Moon, Saturn and Neptune will occur in the early evening hours, shortly after sunset on January 23, 2026. The best time to view this alignment is about 30 to 90 minutes after sunset.

It will be easy to see Saturn and the Moon with the naked eye during twilight and early evening. Whereas Neptune will appear quite blurry. A telescope will be needed to see Neptune.

What is an Assembly?

Conjunctions are clear alignments, they depend on the perspective of the Earth. The planets revolve around the Sun in approximately the same plane, so sometimes they appear close to each other in the sky. The Moon and the planet are not physically close to each other in space, but appear to be in the vicinity of Earth.

Where will it be seen here?

The triple conjunction of the Moon, Saturn and Neptune will be visible in most parts of the world. The Northern Hemisphere includes the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia. The Southern Hemisphere includes countries like Australia, New Zealand, South America and South Africa.

The perfect way to view this rare phenomenon?

Step out of the house immediately after sunset and choose a dark place with less light pollution, facing west. During this time the moon will be easily visible with the naked eye. Saturn will remain bright and stable. It will be visible without any equipment, whereas to see Neptune, the help of binoculars or telescope will have to be taken near Saturn and the Moon.
