Five Lowest Team Score In Test Cricket History: The format of Test cricket is completely different from T20 and ODI and that is why the batsmen do not show any haste here. First he settles down and then plays big shots. This is why teams make big scores. However, sometimes such situations arise in Test matches too, when teams collapse like a house of cards. Many times teams have been all out on very low scores in Tests. For example:- New Zealand team was limited to a score of just 26 runs against England in the year 1955. Here we will tell you about the five lowest team scores, which are recorded in the history of Test cricket.

5 lowest team scores in the history of test cricket

1.New Zealand – 26 runs vs England (1955)

The lowest score in the history of Test cricket came in the year 1955 in the match played at Eden Park, Auckland. New Zealand was all out for just 26 runs against England in its second innings. England’s bowlers, especially Brian Statham and Bob Appleyard, did not give any chance to the Kiwi batsmen. The New Zealand team was bowled out in 27 overs and only one batsman, Bert Sutcliffe, was able to reach double figures (11 runs). Due to this shameful performance, England won the match by an innings and 20 runs.

2. West Indies – 27 runs vs Australia (2025)

The second lowest score in the history of Test cricket came in the year 2025 in the Test match played between West Indies and Australia at Sabina Park, Kingston. Chasing the target of 205 runs, the West Indies team collapsed for just 27 runs in its second innings. Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc took 6 wickets for just 9 runs, due to which West Indies’ batting fell apart like a pack of cards. This is West Indies’ lowest test score so far.

3. South Africa – 30 runs vs England (1896)

In the history of Test cricket, South Africa has had to face the embarrassment of being out on the lowest score many times. In a match against England at Gkebera in 1896, South Africa were all out for only 30 runs in their second innings. In this innings, England bowler George Lohman bowled amazingly and took 8 wickets for only 7 runs. England had easily won this match by a margin of 288 runs.

4. South Africa – 30 runs vs England (1924)

The fourth lowest score in the history of Test cricket came in the year 1924 in the match played between South Africa and England in Birmingham. The interesting thing is that South Africa had repeated the same score after 28 years. Once again the South African team was all out for just 30 runs. This performance reflects the strong bowling of England and the struggling start of South Africa in that period.

5. South Africa – 35 runs vs England (1899)

The fifth lowest score in the history of Test cricket came in the year 1899 in the match played between South Africa and England in Cape Town. In this match, the South African team was reduced to only 35 runs. All these matches took place in difficult conditions and in front of world class English bowlers, who made it almost impossible for the South African batsmen to score runs at that time.

The year 2026 has started in New Zealand. New Zealand welcomed the New Year with a grand fireworks display from ‘Sky Tower’, the tallest building in Auckland. As the first major city to welcome the New Year, Auckland’s approximately 1.7 million residents watched as 3,500 fireworks were fired from the 240-metre (787 ft) high Sky Tower. However, the celebrations were somewhat subdued due to rain in Auckland. Many small local events in the North Island were canceled due to warnings of rain and possible storm.

First place in the world to celebrate 2026

According to NDTV report, Kiritimati island, part of the Pacific country Kiribati, is the first place in the world where the New Year began. Located in the UTC+14 time zone, this island is also known as Christmas Island.

At the same time, New Year events were kept limited in Indonesia also. The reason for this was the floods and landslides that occurred in Sumatra last month, in which more than 1,100 people lost their lives. In the capital Jakarta, simple events focused on prayers for the victims were held, while the mayor of Makassar appealed to citizens to stay away from parties and show condolences. Whereas in Bali, fireworks shows were canceled and traditional cultural programs were organized in their place.

New Year started on a sad note in Sydney

At the same time, across the Tasman Sea in Sydney, the year 2026 started in a serious and mournful atmosphere. The impact of the mass shooting incident that took place during the Hanukkah festival on December 14, 2025 at Bondi Beach in Australia’s largest city Sydney, in which a total of 15 people died and 40 were injured, was still visible. However, despite this horrific incident, thousands of people gathered on the downtown waterfront to watch the fireworks over the Sydney Harbor Bridge. During this period, strict security arrangements were also made.

According to an Associated Press report, for the first time, policemen were deployed with rapid-fire rifles at a New Year event. A minute’s silence was observed an hour before midnight to pay tribute to the victims. Additionally, images of menorahs were projected onto the bridge pillars and attendees were urged to light their mobile phone torches in solidarity with Australia’s Jewish community.

New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon on Saturday (27 December) welcomed the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with India, whereas just a few days ago his country’s Foreign Minister had expressed strong objection to it. Luxon described the agreement as a historic achievement for his government and an important step towards future development.

Lakson said, “We had promised to have a free trade agreement with India in our first term and we have fulfilled it.” Emphasizing its economic importance, he said that this agreement will provide more employment, higher income and more export opportunities for 14 lakh Indian consumers.

What did New Zealand’s Foreign Minister say
He said that this agreement is part of the broader agenda of his government. The recent deal exposed divisions within New Zealand’s ruling coalition, as Foreign Minister Winston Peters criticized the deal as neither free nor fair. Peters, leader of the New Zealand First (NZF) party, further said that he had conveyed his party’s concerns to Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar and also said that despite his opposition to the deal, he had the utmost respect for him.

benefit to both countries
The free trade agreement was announced earlier this week after talks between PM Modi and Luxon. Both the leaders said that with this agreement, bilateral trade can double in the next 5 years and there can be investment of 20 billion dollars in India in the next 15 years. Negotiations for this agreement started in March. At the time of the announcement, Modi and Luxon said that the agreement reflects the shared ambition and political will to further deepen relations between the two countries.

New Zealand First Party leader expressed protest
Regarding this agreement, New Zealand First Party leader Peters wrote on Twitter, “New Zealand First had appealed to its coalition partner not to hastily finalize a low-quality agreement with India.” He alleged that speed was given priority instead of quality. Peters said that the National Party considered it better to make a poor agreement rather than work hard to achieve a fair agreement that would be beneficial to both New Zealand and the Indians.

The main point of contention for Peters is the treatment of the dairy industry. He said that New Zealand has completely opened its market to India, but in return the tariff on Indian imports of major dairy products has not been reduced.

India-New Zealand FTA: Free-trade deal (India-New-Zealand FTA) has been confirmed between India and New Zealand. This will obviously boost bilateral trade between the two countries. However, New Zealand’s Foreign Minister Winston Peters is not liking this deal. He has called it ‘nonsense’. Criticizing the FTA between India and New Zealand, Peters said that ‘it is neither free nor fair.’ Along with this, he warned that whenever this deal goes to the Parliament, his party will oppose it.

What is the Foreign Minister regretting about?

Posting on social media platform He said the deal was bad for New Zealand because it had ‘a lot to lose’, especially on immigration. He said that New Zealand citizens are not getting anything special in return from this deal, including dairy.

Let us tell you that in this deal between the two countries, India has kept dairy products (milk, ghee, butter, cheese, cream) out of the scope of FTA, keeping the interest of the farmers at the forefront. That means the tariff on this will not be reduced. Union Minister Piyush Goyal has also said that India will never open its dairy sector for open trade because it supports the livelihood of about 70 million small farmers.

No compromise with dairy sector

New Zealand is one of the world’s largest exporters of dairy products. New Zealand has been trying to increase its reach in India’s dairy products market for a long time. There are lakhs of small dairy farmers in India. In such a situation, no compromise can be made on this sector so that there is no impact on the security of this sector and the livelihood of these farmers.

Keeping this in mind, the trade of dairy products between the two countries is limited. Dairy exports from New Zealand to India in FY2025 stood at only $1.07 million. This included milk and cream worth $0.40 million, natural honey worth $0.32 million, mozzarella cheese worth $0.18 million, butter worth $0.09 million and skimmed milk worth $0.08 million. The trade deal between India and America is also stuck on this issue. America wants India to open its dairy products market for them, but India is against it.

benefit to the common man

This free-trade deal between India and New Zealand will directly impact the pockets of the common man. With this, many things coming from New Zealand will become cheaper, including many fresh fruits like apple and kiwi, wool and its products, furniture, wood etc. Under the agreement, there will be no tax on 95 percent of the goods coming from New Zealand to India. In such a situation, this is a great opportunity for New Zealand businessmen to increase their reach in the Indian markets. Also, if foreign products become cheaper for the middle class families of our country, they will also get relief.

There has been a sharp reaction in New Zealand politics regarding the recently concluded Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between India and New Zealand. The country’s Foreign Minister and leader of the New Zealand First Party, Winston Peters, has strongly opposed this agreement, calling it ‘neither free nor fair’. He warned that the agreement was a ‘bad deal’ for New Zealand, in which the country had given too many concessions but received no concrete benefits in return.

‘Bad deal for New Zealand’
In a detailed post on social media platform X, Winston Peters said his party New Zealand First “regretfully opposes” the deal. They allege that in this FTA, serious concessions have been given on the immigration and investment front, while in return New Zealand did not get the expected benefits, especially in its major export sectors.

Allegations of loss to dairy farmers
Referring specifically to the dairy sector, Peters said that this agreement is not in the interests of New Zealand farmers. ‘This is not a good deal for New Zealand farmers and it is impossible to justify to our rural communities,’ he said.

More concessions on immigration, less benefits
According to Peters, New Zealand has given excessive concessions in the provisions related to immigration in the India-New Zealand FTA. He said that New Zealanders are not getting enough benefits from this agreement, especially in important sectors like dairy.

business expected to double
Despite Peters’ criticism, the governments of India and New Zealand have described this agreement as historic. Both countries say that this FTA can help in doubling bilateral trade in the next five years. According to the New Zealand government, under this agreement, duties will be eliminated or reduced on 95 percent of New Zealand’s exports to India, of which more than half of the products will become duty-free from day one. In return, all Indian products will get duty-free access to the New Zealand market. New Zealand has also committed to invest about 20 billion dollars in India in the next 15 years, which is being considered a big step in terms of economic relations between the two countries.

Prime Minister Lakson said ‘an agreement with great benefits’
New Zealand’s Prime Minister Christopher Luckson defended this FTA, saying that it would provide wide-ranging and significant benefits. He said in the statement, ‘India’s vast size and rapid economic growth creates huge opportunities for jobs, exports and economic growth for New Zealand.’ The agreement also fulfills the promise made by Laxman’s National Party in the 2022 elections to finalize an FTA with India in its first term.

Differences exposed in coalition government
Winston Peters’ sharp reaction has made it clear that there are deep differences within the ruling coalition regarding the India-New Zealand FTA. In the coming days, this issue may become more heated in the domestic politics of New Zealand.

New Zealand and India Trade Deal: The free-trade agreement between India and New Zealand has been approved. This deal between the two countries was signed recently after the recent visit of New Zealand Trade Minister Todd McClay to India. McClay and Prime Minister Christopher Luxon gave information about this trade deal through a press conference on Monday. After this deal, India will get an opportunity to sell its goods in New Zealand markets without any tariff.

Nine months of long negotiations took place before this deal was sealed, the first round of which started at the time of PM Luxon’s visit to India in March 2025. It is expected that FTA will further strengthen the relationship between the two, strengthen bilateral trade, increase market access and encourage investment. This will open new avenues in different sectors for investors, businessmen, farmers, students and youth of both the countries.

India has achieved another major diplomatic success on the global trade front. The joint announcement of the India-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (FTA) was made during a telephone conversation between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon. This agreement will not only give a new height to the economic relations between the two countries, but also strengthens India’s alternative global partnerships in the era of America’s protectionist trade policies.

Historic agreement completed in 9 months
Negotiations on FTA between India and New Zealand started in March 2025, when Prime Minister Lakson visited India. The completion of this free trade agreement in a record time of just 9 months reflects the political will and strategic understanding of both the countries.

Target to double business in five years
Both leaders agreed that after the implementation of the FTA, the existing bilateral trade will be doubled in the next five years. This will give new impetus to trade, investment, innovation and supply chain cooperation between India and New Zealand.

20 million dollar investment in India in 15 years
Under this agreement, New Zealand will invest 20 million dollars in India in the next 15 years. This investment will create opportunities in sectors like agriculture, dairy, food processing, education, technology and startups.

India’s seventh biggest FTA, global network strengthened
This agreement with New Zealand is India’s seventh major FTA in the last few years. Earlier, India has made such agreements with Oman, UAE, UK, Australia, Mauritius and EFTA countries (European Free Trade Bloc). This series shows that India is rapidly emerging as a reliable global trade hub.

New Zealand News: A shocking and much talked about incident has come to light from New Zealand, where a group of local people protested against the removal of Nagar Kirtan from the Sikh community. The protesters blocked the way for Nagar Kirtan and started standing in front and shouting slogans. After this incident, there was a tense situation in the area for some time, however, due to the wisdom of the police, the matter calmed down.

Protest carried out with banners

According to eyewitnesses, the protesters were holding banners that read, “This is New Zealand, not India” and “Let New Zealand remain New Zealand, this is our land, this is our stand.”

This demonstration took place on Saturday when Nagar Kirtan was returning towards the Gurudwara. Local people registered their protest through slogans and banners, which shocked the Sikh community.

Nagar Kirtan was returning to Gurudwara

Giving information, Sikh leader Sunny Singh said that on Saturday, Nagar Kirtan was taken out peacefully by the Sikh community in South Auckland area. This Nagar Kirtan started from Gurudwara Nanaksar Thath Ishar Darbar, Manurewa. This protest came to light when the Nagar Kirtan was returning towards the Gurudwara after passing through different parts of the area.

According to Sunny Singh, as soon as Nagar Kirtan reached near the Gurudwara, a group of about 30 to 35 local people came there. They stood in front of Nagar Kirtan, blocked the road and started raising slogans. The atmosphere became uneasy due to this sudden protest.

Sikh community showed restraint

Despite no clear reason for protest emerging, the Sikh community maintained complete restraint. Avoiding any kind of confrontation, he maintained peace and did not try to engage with the protesters. People of the community say that they were surprised by this unexpected protest, but they thought it best to maintain peace.

As soon as information about the incident was received, New Zealand Police reached the spot. The police immediately intervened and separated both the parties and averted any kind of clash. After some time the protesters moved aside, after which the Nagar Kirtan peacefully returned to the Gurudwara.

New Zealand all-rounder James Neesham, who is playing for Dubai Capitals in the International League T20 (ILT20), has said that in the coming days, the ODI format will lag far behind the other two formats.

What will be the future of cricket for fast bowlers? Answering this question, James Neesham said, “Cricket is changing rapidly. Now fast bowlers will have to decide in advance which format they want to play. They will have to prepare accordingly. I do not think that fast bowlers can play all three formats.”

On the future of all three formats of cricket, Neesham said, “I think ODI cricket is the format that will be left behind, Test cricket will be the most valuable format of the game, and T20 will be the highest-grossing format.”

James Neesham is among those New Zealand players who are in demand in cricket leagues around the world including IPL. Neesham is considered an important player in the T20 format due to his stormy batting and excellent bowling.

Neesham, who plays all three formats for New Zealand, has not played Test cricket since 2017. Although he has not officially said goodbye to Test cricket. He is continuously seen in ODI and T20 formats. In his injury-hit career, Neesham has scored 709 runs with the help of 2 centuries and 4 half-centuries and taken 14 wickets in 12 Tests for New Zealand. He has 1,495 runs and 71 wickets with the help of 7 half-centuries in 76 ODIs and 1,010 runs and 56 wickets in 71 innings of 93 T20s. In 14 matches of IPL, Neesham has scored 92 runs in 10 innings and taken 8 wickets.

The Indian cricket team had to face a crushing defeat in the match played against South Africa at the historic Eden Garden in Kolkata. Chasing the target of 124 runs, the Indian team was reduced to 93 runs and lost by 30 runs. Amid questions being raised about the pitch after India’s shameful defeat, former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has said something very important for the team management and Indian team head coach Gautam Gambhir.

Ganguly’s reaction came just after the controversy over the Eden Gardens pitch. He said that the pitch was exactly as the team wanted. The former Indian captain said, “The Indian team management should stop tampering with the pitches to dominate the home ground. Play on good wickets. Give the batsmen the opportunity to score more than 350 runs and motivate the bowlers to take wickets on the same wicket.”

Ganguly, popularly known as Dada in Indian cricket, said that we should trust our bowling. We have Jasprit Bumrah and Siraj, who are bowling well in Tests. I think Mohammed Shami should also be included in this. Shami, along with the spinners, has the ability to lead the Indian team to victory in the Test. Ganguly said that I hope that Gautam Gambhir will be listening to me.

Taking the name of the head coach of the Indian team by the former captain is a clear indication that he is not happy with the Indian team and the demand for a special pitch for the Test.

Let us tell you that in 2024, the Indian team had to face 0-3 defeat in the home Test series against New Zealand. Even at that time, the pitch was made suitable for spinners and the Indian team had to suffer the loss in the form of defeat.
