The tension between India and Pakistan has increased again. Pakistan has imposed restrictions on basic facilities for the employees of the Indian High Commission. Top sources of the government have described it intentionally and a violation of the Vienna Convention.

Pakistan’s strategy and reasons
According to the report of News18, this action has been taken after the success of Operation Sindoor of the Indian Army and strict adherence to the Indus Water Treaty. Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI has adopted a strategy of this “small taste” to influence the lives and functioning of Indian diplomatic personnel.

Gas supply stopped
According to sources, the needle northern gas pipelines have installed gas pipelines in the premises of the Indian High Commission, but the supply of gas has been stopped. Local cylinder vendors have also been ordered not to sell gas to Indian employees, making them dependent on expensive and difficult options.

Drinking water supply closed
The vendors who supply clean drinking water are also not able to give water to the mission. Due to this, employees have to resort to local tap water, which is not safe for drinking without special filtration.

Supply of newspapers also closed
To prevent the flow of information, local newspaper vendors have been instructed not to sell the newspaper to the mission. Indian authorities have considered it a prime step to keep diplomatic employees separate from local news.

Impact on Vienna Convention and Indo-Pak relations
Government sources said that all this weakens the violation of Vienna Convention as well as the delicate fabric of India-Pakistan relations. This strategy of Pakistan is part of the tricks to pressurize instead of traditional dialogues.

Indo-Pak negotiation stop
There has been no high -level talks between the two countries after the 2019 Pulwama attack and Balakot AIRRIC. In recent months, stress has increased due to the strict adherence to Operation Sindoor and Indus Water Treaty.
