<p style="text-align: justify;">Banks will remain closed in Shillong area on Thursday, 18 December to commemorate the death anniversary of U Soso Tham, hence all banks in Meghalaya will also remain closed on Thursday. Banks will remain open throughout India on Thursday except this north-eastern state.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Banks will remain closed in Gangtok area on Saturday, December 20 to celebrate &#8216;Losung/Namsung&#8217;. As far as the coming week is concerned, banks are going to remain closed for four days between December 8 and December 14. <p style="text-align: justify;">According to the list of holidays of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks are closed every Sunday and the second and fourth Saturday of the month. During this period, banks remain closed across the country. Apart from this, bank holidays also vary from state to state depending on regional and local festivals. Banks will remain closed for four days including Saturday and Sunday in the coming week. The two bank holidays may vary from region to region. </p>
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Where will the holidays be on 9th and 12th December? </h3>
<p>Banks will remain closed in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday, December 9. That means there will be a bank holiday in Kerala on this day. The bank holiday has been decided due to the general elections of Local Government Institutions 2025. Apart from these two places, banks will remain open in the rest of the country on Tuesday. There will be a bank holiday in Meghalaya on Friday, 12th December. Banks will remain closed in Shillong on the occasion of the death anniversary of Pa Togan Nengminja Sangma. Apart from this, functioning of banks across the country will continue as normal on Friday. </p>
<h3>18 holidays in december</h3>
<p style="text-align: justify;">After this, banks will remain closed across the country on Saturday, September 13 because it will be the second Saturday of the month. RBI has made bank holidays mandatory on the second and fourth Saturday of every month. Apart from this, there will be bank holiday on Sunday also.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The Reserve Bank of India has announced 18 days of bank holidays in December 2025, many of which vary from state to state. Banks will remain closed across the country on December 25 due to Christmas, while many other holidays will be applicable only in certain cities.
